Opportunity Kohler Sanimex
Basic Functions
Responsible for the total scope of Mold Shop pressure cast mold, Engineering Projects, including design, fabrication and installation for improving existing physical process and manufacturing systems as well as any new additions in either area.
Responsibility includes any other project engineering work as assigned by Process engineering manager in Sanimex.
Specific Responsibilities
- Design and oversee fabrication of pressure cast molds for the Sanimex sites and installation of new equipment, controls, and machine components and new technologies related to pressure cast mold fabrication.
- Develop designs for improving quality systems on existing plant equipment & process.
- Investigate and follow through with improvements for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Directs Maintenance personnel in the installation or repair of equipment according to specific design guidelines.
- Work closely with Corporate Engineering, Wisconsin on major new products development debugs or improvements projects for the existing products in the Sanimex sites by altering or redesigning initiatives.
- Assists in reviewing equipment purchases to ensure that applicable safety requirements are met.
- Studies and verifies that work being performed by outside contractors meets all required specifications.
- Develops feasibility studies on new ideas and innovations, which would relate to manufacturing systems.
- Prepares status reports on long term and specialty projects.
- Performs other engineering work as assigned by the Process engineering manager.
- - perform the mold production schedule according with MPS for each site of Sanimex and eventually for the rest of north America sites.
- - Ensure the material suppliers consumption allocating PO order to keep proper levels of inventories.
Relationship and contacts supervisory relationships:
- Reports to process engineering manager.
- Frequently supervises maintenance workers assigned to special projects. organizational Relationship:
- Frequent contact with Staff Engineer – Plant Engineering and Maintenance to receive new and report on existing assignments.
- Frequent contact with NPD, Manufacturing supervision for appraisal of new projects and other manufacturing problems.
- Frequent contact with Industrial Engineering concerning cost estimates, layouts, capacities of plant facilities, and other technical assistance.
- Communicates with Corporate Engineering on equipment and facilities changes.
- Frequent contact with Foreman – Maintenance and Plant Services to discuss equipment changes and work schedules.
External Business Relationships:
- Frequent contact with outside vendors to obtain information and quotes on new processes, methods, equipment, and materials.
- Frequent contact with outside contractors concerning fabrication or construction relating to assigned projects.
Education And Experience Requirements
Degree in Mechatronic, industrial engineering or Mechanical, chemical or comparable BS Degree with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing molding or stamping process. Willing to travel with Mexican passport and American visa required.
