Job description

Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our service team as a Policy Administrative Representative!

About The Role

As a Policy Admin Representative, you'll be responsible for supporting the new business and/or various customer service and contract administration functions to in-force Life, Disability and Self-Insured Medical Stop Loss business and typically assigned the more complex transactions and/or functions. In this role you will assist in the development and training of other team members and participate in Acceptance testing as needed. This position also provides service and support to Premium, Commission, Underwriting, Claims, and Field sales/service teams.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for systems set up for Stop Loss., Creation of contract/certificates/administration agreements, amendments of in force contract, and any other contract documents needed for Group Life, Disability and Medical Excess Loss Products.
  • Analyze documents submitted and policy admin systems (PASR/ESL), determine if additional information is needed.
  • Administration of in force contracts for Benefits Life, Disability and Medical Stop Loss products to include policyholder list bill updates, renewals, agent of record, etc.
  • Responsible for daily management of work assignments ensuring appropriate communications, and that deadlines and Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Obtain and maintain intermediate knowledge of products, processes, industry and company rules regarding pre-sale, policy set up and issue, renewals, revision, amendments, etc.
  • Understanding and application of guides for Broker/Agent and TPA appointments for contract renewal and Broker of Record changes
  • Provide Service and support to Underwriting, Product partners, Field Sales/Service Staff, and other internal teams.
  • Provide customer service via the Benefits 800 phone line to policyholders, broker/agents, sales team etc.
  • Special assignments as indicated such as project participation
  • Actively participate in unit meetings and provide input to improve workflows and processes Acceptance testing
  • Subject matter expert on one or more functions
  • Training and development of other team members

Compensation

Hourly Salary Range: $21.00 - $ 35.19 plus eligibility for annual bonus program

Your Skills And Experience

  • High school diploma required
  • Two to three years of work experience in a fast-paced team environment
  • One to two years minimum experience in group life, disability and/or medical insurance
  • Excellent oral/written communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Planning, Prioritizing, Organizational skills Detail orientation with high level of accuracy
  • Ability to learn and apply a complex system and set of rules and guides
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications, Word, Excel
