The impact you will make:

Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Training and Enablement Manager to join our growing Clinical Operations team. We want someone who cares about this important work, and who’s driven to connect to our mission of helping these patient communities. The Training and Enablement Manager will be responsible for optimizing Clinical Operations processes, managing SOPs, and implementing systems to enhance team efficiency and compliance. They will develop and oversee training programs, establish a subject matter expert network, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Additionally, they will act as a strategic partner to leadership, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and providing regular updates on progress and opportunities for improvement.

What you will do:

  • Analyze and refine Clinical Operations processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain process documentation, ensuring clear guidelines and accessibility for team members.
  • Oversee the ownership, development, revision, and management of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with GCP, regulatory guidelines, organizational policies, and industry best practices.
  • Work closely with various functions within Agios to ensure the setup and execution of Clinical Operations cross-functional review of SOPs.
  • Serve as primary point person for Quality Assurance team for the management of any process-related quality events and effectively communicate any decisions/updates to the department.
  • Identify and establish subject matter expert (SME) network within the Clinical Operations team to serve as go-to resources for specialized knowledge and guidance.
  • Develop and implement a framework for SME role definition, training, and ongoing development.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to ensure alignment with departmental goals and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive training programs tailored to Clinical Operations staff, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
  • Create onboarding tool for new hires within Clinical Operations to facilitate initial onboarding, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary for success.
  • Partner with GxP Training team on development of On The Job Training for roles within Clinical Operations.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, metrics, and performance assessments, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Clinical Operations leadership, identifying and addressing team needs to drive engagement and performance.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement across the department.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship opportunities to support career development within the team.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain technology solutions and systems that support Clinical Operations processes and workflows.
  • Act as a liaison between the Clinical Operations team and other departments to ensure seamless integration and functionality of tools, processes, and systems.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of people enablement initiatives, training programs, SOP adherence, and system implementations.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in training, people enablement, clinical operations, or a related role in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and clinical trial processes.
  • Experience with SOP development, implementation, and management.
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering training programs to diverse teams.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex workflows and implement practical solutions.
  • Familiarity with clinical operations systems and tools (e.g., CTMS, LMS, eTMF).

Work Location:

Location Agnostic: Work location for this role is based on employee's individual preference. This role has the ability to be either remote in the US or hybrid in our Cambridge Headquarters. Hybrid schedules vary but are generally less than 3 days per week onsite and hybrid employees are expected to live within commutable distance to our Cambridge Headquarters. Remote employees work entirely from home except for attending Company sponsored events/ meetings. For employees who choose to work remotely, travel may be required for certain company events commensurate to the above job description.

  • Competitive and equitable performance-based compensation. This includes base salary and both short- and long-term incentives that are connected to our business strategy and vary based on individual and company performance.
    • The current base salary range for this position is expected to be between $106,825 and $160,237 annualized; final salary will be determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, years of relevant experience, job knowledge, skills and proficiency, degree/education, and internal comparators.
