About the Role

The FP&A Manager will manage Second Nature’s financial planning, analysis and forecasting; and provide visibility, insight & recommendations to senior management. Reporting to the VP of FP&A, the manager will develop and maintain Second Nature's financial models, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning; prepare presentations for monthly and quarterly board meetings and monthly C-suite operations reviews; and other tasks as listed below.

 
Key Competencies

Financial Acumen 

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company goals.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning, business growth initiatives, and capital allocation.
  • Deep understanding of financial statements, forecasting, and budgeting.
     

Forecasting and Budgeting

  • Lead strategic planning & annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Work closely with department heads to develop accurate and achievable budgets and forecasts.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including board presentations and investor updates.
 

Strategic Thinking

  • Translate financial data into actionable insights that drive business growth.
     

Analytical Skills 

  • Create and conduct detailed and complex financial models; present them to executive management and leadership teams.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to support strategic initiatives, investments, and business decisions.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for senior management as needed.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights into trends and opportunities.
  • Conduct scenario analysis to assess potential business outcomes and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide insightful variance analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
     

Communication and Influence

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly to executives and stakeholders.
     

Collaboration and Leadership

  • Collaborate with department heads to establish KPIs, monitor financial performance, and drive operational efficiency.
     

Tech-Savvy 

  • Strong experience with financial planning software, ERP systems, and BI tools (Bonus if you’ve used Netsuite)

  • Timely and accurate financial forecasting, ensuring minimal variance between projected and actual results.
  • Improved decision-making through enhanced financial insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Optimization of SaaS financial metrics, including improved customer lifetime value (LTV) and reduced churn.
  • Implementation of automated reporting tools, reducing manual reporting efforts and increasing efficiency.
  • Enhanced collaboration with department leads, resulting in cost optimization and revenue growth.
  • Successful execution of annual budgeting cycles and quarterly re-forecasting processes.
  • Effective risk identification and mitigation strategies to support sustainable business growth.
     
About you:
 
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis, preferably in a SaaS or technology company.
  • 3+ years creating; projecting & analyzing Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) Models
  • 3+ years creating; projecting & analyzing product profitability models
  • 3+ years creating & presenting detailed complex financial models
  • System savvy and expert knowledge of Salesforce, NetSuite, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, Power BI; Tableau and other reporting applications.
  • Highly motivated and committed to driving change and improving processes
  • Comfortability working in an organization operating in a state of change / transformation
  • Ability to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities
