The Senior Workday Analyst will be a core member of the Workday Support team and will work to help solve multidimensional information technology problems, improve customer experience, and generate value for stakeholders across a broad base of departments through the use of Workday’s various reporting tools. The Senior Workday Analyst will work with internal clients, including senior management, to define Human Resources reporting requirements and lead the development and maintenance of simple to complex reports and dashboards, ensuring timely and accurate completion, utilizing Workday report writer/designer. The scope  includes evaluating, designing, developing, and testing reports for payroll, benefits, time tracking, compensation, talent, performance, and recruiting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with HR team and key stakeholders to recommend, develop, maintain and test simple to complex Workday reports, including matrix and composite reports, utilizing Workday Report Writer and Report Designer

  • Deliver meaningful metrics, trends and analytical insights via Workday reporting and dashboards

  • Analyze, design and build new custom reports using standard Workday reporting functionality (ex: Report Writer, Calculated Fields)

  • Ensure custom reports function as designed based on business requirements

  • Provide support for existing custom reports in Workday

  • Document the report function and design to facilitate maintenance

  • Troubleshoot existing reports and dashboards to solve issues as reported by end users which can be related to access, design, configuration changes, releases and more

  • Participate in report reviews, including understanding and ensuring security and data privacy standards

  • Provide analysis of impacts to reporting based on new releases or updates to system functionality and recommend/apply changes in addition to reporting and dashboard related testing for each release

  • Maintain awareness of data security and complies with policies and procedures. Participate in report reviews, including understanding and ensuring security and data privacy standards such as GDPR regulations. Comfortable enforcing adherence to security policies and practices 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Configure, maintain and advise on security within Workday application. This includes domain security policies, roles, and role assignments
  • Coordinate with vendors to understand new technology scope and association with new functionality and security
  • Develop and maintain awareness of divisional and data security and comply with policies and procedures
  • Participate in report reviews, including understanding and ensuring security and data privacy standards
  • Stay updated on new security features within the application’s future roadmap, and implement where possible
  • Perform audits on system roles and access logs to ensure accuracy
  • Demonstrate proof of security controls during internal and external audits
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Solid understanding of Workday security features and controls
  • Knowledge of SOX and data privacy regulations
  • Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the clients’ needs and situation
  • Working knowledge of HR/Finance information systems, data models organization structures and roles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with functional and IT clients
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable enforcing adherence to security policies and practices
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA degree in human resources, information technology, computer science or other related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with HR/Finance information systems and report development tools such as Business Objects, Crystal, and Workday Report Writer. Proficiency in Workday HCM report writing (advanced Workday Report Writer and Calculated Fields) strongly preferred. Workday reporting certification preferred.
  • Ability to work with internal and external customers on a global scale to understand the business requirements, collect information, understand and assess the clients’ needs and translate them into operational requirements
  • Solid understanding of Workday security features and controls
  • Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks independently, providing timely follow-up and resolution
  • Knowledge of business and management principles
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy and with highly confidential data
  • Working knowledge of data models, organization structures and roles
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with functional and IT clients
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite of applications, i.e. Excel Pivot Tables, for data mining to develop workforce metrics reports to interpret trends in hiring and attrition.
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
