Job description

Your Role At A Glance

The Paralegal will possess expertise in organizing and reviewing sales contract terms and conditions. They will serve as the primary contact for new sales contracts and confidentiality agreements (NDAs) on company or customer forms. This role involves actively managing the completion, return, or escalation of issues related to customer contracts and NDAs. Additionally, the Paralegal will assist with other legal duties, including the Restricted Party Screening process for new customers.

How You’ll Drive Success
Customer Support and Guidance
  • Oversees, identifies and provides guidance to the Customer Service team regarding how to respond to customer terms and condition and NDAs.  
  • Communicates with the direct sales team status of the review process and time period.
Collaboration and Compliance
  • Works closely with both the Senior Paralegal and Sandvik Legal Counsel for elevated questions.
  • Follows guidelines established by Sandvik legal counsel.
  • Periodically reviews the Sandvik Restricted Party Screening database to ensure customer names are accurate and reflect the legal entity name and address
Professional Development
  • Attends legal seminars and trainings as mutually agreed with manager.
  • Performs other paralegal duties and special projects as assigned. 
The Talents We’re Seeking
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in legal or paralegal studies, or a paralegal or equivalent certificate.
  • CT certified notary required (can be obtained shortly after employment).
Required Skills
  • 5+ years experience as a paralegal, preferably in a corporate legal department, with a minimum of 3 - 5 years experience reviewing contracts.
Preferred Skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, reading comprehensive skills and experience reviewing own and others’ work.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to succeed in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, coupled with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • An unflappable approach and a calm outward demeanor with the ability to positively relate to all levels, both within the organization and with our external customers.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to provide accurate and timely information in a succinct and easy to understand manner.
  • Proven time management skills and a track record of success working in a team environment successfully supporting others.
  • Understands when to raise issues with Sandvik’s Legal Counsel for legal advice or opinion.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Adobe) and document management (Adobe Sign, DocuSign) skills.
