xScion is seeking a Performance & Data Logging Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining performance monitoring solutions and data logging infrastructure. This role involves utilizing Dynatrace Synthetic for test and simulation creation, Grafana for monitoring and visualization, and contributing to the full lifecycle of transforming performance data into actionable insights.

As a Performance & Logging Engineer, You Will: 

• Performance Testing and Simulation:
  • Design, develop, and implement synthetic monitors using Dynatrace Synthetic to proactively track application and system performance.
  • Create and execute performance tests and simulations to identify potential bottlenecks and areas for optimization.
  • Analyze test results and provide recommendations for performance improvements.
• Data Logging and Monitoring:
  • Design, implement, and maintain data logging infrastructure to capture relevant performance data.
  • Configure and optimize monitoring tools, including Grafana, to visualize and analyze time-series data.
  • Develop and implement alerting mechanisms for performance anomalies.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Transform raw performance data into actionable insights through analysis and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to visualize performance metrics and trends.
  • Communicate performance insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Infrastructure and Tooling:
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of infrastructure to support performance testing and monitoring activities.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance performance monitoring and data logging capabilities.
• Collaboration:
  • Work closely with development, operations, and other teams to understand performance requirements and ensure effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather requirements, provide support, and communicate findings.

To Be Successful, You Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in performance engineering, data logging, or a related field.  
• Proven experience with Dynatrace Enterprise Platform for synthetic monitoring.
• Strong experience with Grafana for monitoring, visualization, and analysis of time-series data.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for test automation and data manipulation.
• Familiarity with various data logging techniques and tools.
• Experience in designing and implementing performance tests and simulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Knowledge of cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with database performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
