Established in 1990, GLSEN is a multi-racial intergenerational LGBTQ+ organization working nationally and locally to transform K-12 educational systems and democracy in the United States.

POSITION OVERVIEW
GLSEN seeks an exceptional, results-oriented Manager of Development Operations to support the daily function of the development team’s ability to operate and the organization's growing momentum. The successful candidate will be an accomplished individual with superior data oversight and process development skills and will work collaboratively with the Deputy Executive Director for Development to meet the financial needs of GLSEN's strategic vision.
Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director of Development, the Manager supports the strategy, execution and coordination of GLSEN’s development operation strategies. The Manager of Development Operations will support the organization's strategy, vision, and approach to successfully manage the organization's CRMs, platform administration and gift entry and acknowledgement process and execution. This is a tactical and detail-oriented role focused on day-to-day operations, with an emphasis on data integrity, gift processing, and CRM maintenance. While process improvement ideas are welcome, this is not a strategic or supervisory position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Gift Processing & Donor Services
Process all donations and earned income to GLSEN National and Chapters in Raiser's Edge from payment sources including checks, EFTs, third party giving platforms, stock, crypto, and merchandise transactions using methods such as batch entry, custom imports, IOM+/Omatic, and caging service
Generate timely donor gift acknowledgment letters and annual tax receipts; routinely update letter messaging and provide management of auto-generated digital letter processes on all giving platforms
Manage all recurring gift processes on EveryAction and FundraiseUp platforms, including providing direct customer service to donors requesting changes as well as creating automated processes and workflows for donor self-service portals
Complete monthly financial reconciliation process with Finance team to ensure accuracy of revenue recording and budget tracking
Serve as the main point of contact for donor inquiries related to gifts, receipts, and account updates
Assist with planning and executing direct mail and special appeals, including list segmentation and data preparation
Build donation pages, welcome email series, custom campaigns, donation pop-ups, QR codes, and other communication strategies in EveryAction and FundraiseUp, including maintaining accurate donor information on the platforms.
Data & System Administration
Administer and maintain CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge, EveryAction), ensuring system integrity, user permissions, and secure access
Build queries, exports, and tailored reports using Raiser's Edge and create custom Insights and dashboards in RE NXT to support the needs of the Development team
Maintain overall data hygiene through creation and application of data entry best practices, processing NCOA address updates, standardizing database fields, mitigation of duplicate records, and manual clean up
Maintain meticulous donor and revenue records to ensure high levels of data hygiene, accurate gift coding, a smooth financial reconciliation process, and impactful donor stewardship efforts for the Development and Finance teams
Manage data sharing from third party platforms into Raiser's Edge and EveryAction, including technical maintenance of direct integrations, manual data imports, and duplicate record handling
Serve as GLSEN’s platform administrator for all technical concerns, user permissions and security for internal and external stakeholders, third-party integrations, and team onboarding/training for RE, EveryAction, FundraiseUp, Double the Donation, JustGiving, PayPal Giving Fund, Giving Block, Cybergrants, YourCause, Benevity, FrontDoor, Network for Good, MightyCause, SAM.gov, and any other new fundraising platforms.
Financial Reconciliation & Reporting
Collaborate with the Finance team to complete monthly financial reconciliation and ensure accurate revenue recording.
Maintain detailed donor and transaction records to support financial audit readiness, internal tracking, and budgeting.
Manage annual wealth screening process including determining technical screening parameters, facilitating data access with external partners, mapping and importing results to Raiser’s Edge, and reporting out on screening results.
LOCATION
This position is currently remote within the United Sates, but with strong preference for individuals in LA, San Francisco, Washington DC or in the tristate area close to GLSEN’s New York City headquarters. For more information see GLSEN's website at www.glsen.org.
SALARY RANGE
The salary for this position is $80,000 - $85,000 annually.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
At least four years of experience using Raiser’s Edge for gift entry, reporting, and data management is required.
Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills required, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and dashboard creation.
The intellectual depth, entrepreneurial drive, maturity, self-confidence, interpersonal skills, and warmth to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels of the organization, across a diverse range of educational and social backgrounds.
Excellent strategic, organizational and project management skills and the ability to simultaneously plan and execute multiple projects.
Excellent communication skills—both oral and written—with an ability to inspire others to support GLSEN and become fundraising agents for its mission. Experience communicating with donors is a plus.
Proven analytical and strategic skills, with experience creating processes for efficiency, and the detail orientation and follow-through to implement those plans.
Knowledge of national LGBTQ+, education, civil rights and other relevant funding communities.

An appreciation for the mission and growth aspirations of GLSEN.
Familiarity with Raiser Edge, Omatic, EveryAction, and Fundraise Up
Ability to travel 10-20% domestically (nights and weekend work for events is expected).
