Remote AI Implementation Mentor

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AI Mentor to guide our engineering team in implementing AI solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science.  They will be responsible for mentoring and advising our engineers on developing and implementing AI solutions to solve complex problems and improve our products and services.

This will be part-time position, based in the Philippines.   

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide the Lead Engineer for the exploration of new AI and machine learning technologies and cascade their usage to other team members that are relevant to the Project.

• Analyze datasets and AI models for advanced analytics and machine learning systems, including visualization

• Offer expert advice and mentorship on key project challenges and opportunities.

• Conduct focused training sessions on AI/ML topics relevant to current project.

• Review and evaluate AI/ML solutions and provide recommendations for improvement.

• Share relevant AI advancements and insights with the team.

• Contribute to AI strategy on a project-by-project basis.

• Champion best practices within the context of specific projects.

• Encourage innovation and learning through project-based guidance.

• Provide guidance on performance monitoring and model maintenance for the current Project.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field

• At least 5 years of experience in developing advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning solutions

• Must be knowledgeable on machine learning languages including LLM, VLM, image processing and object detection

• Experience in Implementing OCR and Visual AI solutions.

• Demonstrated experience in developing, deploying, and optimizing AI models and machine learning algorithms.

• Strong academic foundation in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).

• A customer-focused approach with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.

• Proficiency with AI tools, data analytics platforms, and machine learning frameworks.

• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

• Up-to-date with latest trends in AI
