Job Description Summary

Develop and manage operating procedures to assess, improve and provide governance of data and ongoing fitness-for-purpose of the organizations data assets in compliance with policy and regulatory obligations. Foster a productive team environment, emphasizing adaptability and professional growth. Monitor processes to ensure service and quality standards are met.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Foster an innovative environment that challenges the status quo; supports and engages new ideas, and leads by example.

  • Maintain an immediate and medium term outlook on process relevance and effectiveness. 

  • Partner with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.

  • Tactically deploys resources to meet objectives.

  • Provide first line management of people and performance issues.

  • May have direct reports or serve as a senior project or process manager without direct reports.

  • Develop and maintain quality controls, procedures and processes.

  • Serve as subject matter expert on company-wide data governance/data foundation related initiatives.

  • Collaborate across management areas to define goals and measurements; maintain relationships with business units, internal customers and IT.

  • Evaluate and recommend methodology, applications, and tools to run required processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement to build the Data Stewardship competency.

  • Expand knowledge of current trends in the fields of data management, data governance or data stewardship.

  • Engage in professional development activities with a focus on technical competency, developing technology, and changing privacy laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other quantitative discipline with a focus on data usage and critical thinking, or relevant business degree

  • Eight years of experience in a similar role

  • Skilled in disciplined data stewardship and governance practices

  • Thorough understanding of database management, data mining and reporting concepts

  • Technical competence using SQL, big data technologies and AWS

  • Ability to bridge business and technical concepts to advance objectives

  • Negotiation, adaptability and collaboration skills

  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Detail oriented and well organized

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field

  • Management experience

Working Conditions

  • Office or hybrid office/remote environment

  • Occasional travel

Compensation:

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $120,000 - $135,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
