Description

The Associate General Counsel must be a self-motivated, proactive attorney looking to make a real impact in a fun and dynamic environment. Dive into our innovative technology and business processes, tackle key issues, and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Lead the charge in finding and implementing creative, practical legal solutions. Negotiate critical contracts and assist in shaping and improving our data privacy and other compliance functions. The Associate General Counsel must thrive in a fast-paced setting and love being at the heart of critical company efforts including but not limited to client and vendor contracting, privacy law compliance, and litigation support.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 

  • Partner with the Chief Legal Officer, other legal team members, business teams, clients, and partners to craft innovative, resourceful business solutions to legal challenges that drive our business forward.
  • Be the go-to for pragmatic, timely legal counsel on contracts, litigation, and data privacy law issues.
  • Gradually become our lead guru for all client and vendor contracting matters. Work in partnership with our sales, IT, and business teams to fine-tune contracting processes.
  • Orchestrate multiple projects effectively to meet key revenue deadlines and department service goals, all while keeping things running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Partner with the Chief Legal Officer to continuously enhance Wiland's legal functions, embracing continuous learning to thrive in our high-growth environment.
  • Learn our business and industry inside out, collaborating with employees across the company.
  • Master the art of negotiating, drafting, editing, and executing contracts, including data privacy agreements. Decode legal language and legislation for the business team.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in a U.S. state; Colorado preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate and commercial law.
  • 2+ years of experience in privacy law preferred.
  • Significant experience with technology and high-growth companies.
  • Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to work independently, managing various tasks and balancing competing priorities to meet tight deadlines.

 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • Location: Remote
  • Department: Finance & Administration 
  • Compensation Range: $136,500-191,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component.
