Job description

Position: Psychologist (Functional SME)
Location: Remote
Work Environment: Remote, Professional
Clearance Required: Public Trust
Status: Contingent

Knowesis is currently seeking exceptional Psychologists to join our team and provide invaluable support to the Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Health Agency (DHA) Primary Care Behavioral Health Expert Trainers.

 The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  

  • Supporting the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) program objectives:
    • Providing program visibility via reports on implementation support activities.
    • Providing training/mentoring to PCBH staff in the delivery of care via the PCBH model and care management model for increased growth in skill competencies via mentoring calls, reviewing clinical documentation and recordings, leading trainings, and conducting other implementation support activities.
    • Identifying and correcting program drift as specified in the core competency tools and through training and mentoring contacts to reduce threats to program fidelity.
    • Providing verbal and written recommendations to improve implementation of the program.
    • Providing clinic-level recommendations to leadership for program optimization.
  • Acting as Trainer/Mentor.
  • Preparation of reports.
  • Participating in creation of training materials, presenting, providing technical expertise at conferences, symposia, or other professional events.

Required Qualifications:  

  • Doctoral degree in professional (i.e., clinical, counseling, or combined) psychology from a graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time the degree was granted.
  • Must hold a current license to practice psychology.
  • Must have 10 years post-doctorate experience, of which at least 2 years is on providing services in the Primary Care Behavioral Health model of care.

Post-Award Qualifications/Standards include:

  • Minimum level of Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in the PCBH and Care Management Models and clinical practice and training/mentoring skills.
  • Must demonstrate SME in the PCBH model and the care management model.
  • Must attend both the Behavioral Health Consultants (BHC) and Behavioral Health Care Facilitators (BHCF) initial trainings (if not previously taken and passed).
