Job description

Job Summary::

North Stone is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Health Data Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. The Health Data SME will provide expertise in health data management, analysis, and reporting, leveraging a deep understanding of healthcare systems, data standards, and analytics. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that align with healthcare regulations and meet client needs.

 

*This position is contingent upon contract award*

Job Duties and Responsibilities: :
  • Act as the primary expert on health data, guiding project teams in the management and analysis of healthcare datasets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements, ensure data quality, and support decision-making processes.
  • Analyze complex health data sets to identify trends, insights, and actionable outcomes that support healthcare objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT) and regulations such as HIPAA and GDPR.
  • Design and implement data management strategies, including data collection, cleansing, validation, and storage.
  • Work closely with developers and engineers to design and optimize data pipelines and reporting systems.
  • Support the development of dashboards and visualizations that communicate key healthcare insights effectively.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to provide health data expertise.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in health data.
  • Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions for team members on health data-related topics.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience)::
  • Active Secret clearance required!
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Data Science, Public Health, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in health data management, analytics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with healthcare standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT) and data security protocols.
  • Strong background in working with healthcare datasets (e.g., EHRs, claims data, clinical trial data).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with database systems and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and GDPR.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to translate technical data insights into actionable business recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Health Informatics, Data Analytics, or related areas.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and automated data testing.
  • Knowledge of population health, clinical workflows, or public health initiatives.
