JOB TITLE: ATC Business Development Leader

DEPARTMENT: ATC

REPORTS TO:  VP of Sales

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

JOB TYPE: Full time

LOCATION: Remote (Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; Indianapolis, IN; Columbus, OH)

COMPENSATION: $100k-$120K

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Business Development Leader (BDL) is responsible for acquiring new clients and generating new revenue by identifying, engaging, and closing pipeline opportunities assigned by sales leadership.

The opportunities may exist inside or outside of local territory geographies. Focused on achieving measurable results, this position combines targeted mentorship of individual sales team members, and the development of emerging sales leadership. As a trusted brand ambassador, the BDL will represent the company at key industry events while ensuring that critical sales initiatives are strategically aligned to accelerate revenue growth and deliver lasting business impact.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Coach and Develop Newer Sales Team Members

  • Provide hands-on mentorship to a defined group of newer sales team members, accelerating their success through structured onboarding, skill development, and targeted coaching in customer engagement and solution design.
  • Mentor and support identified sales team members to achieve targeted revenue and margin goals.
  • Partner with leadership to track individual progress and address development needs.
  • Drive improvements to sales playbooks and other sales readiness materials to optimize processes and align with market trends.
  • Provide coaching on leadership fundamentals and key responsibilities.

Drive Revenue as a Player-Coach

  • Balance leadership and personal sales responsibilities by managing and growing a select portfolio of key accounts while supporting newer team members to achieve their revenue and margin goals.
  • Partner with newer team members on key opportunities, offering guidance on account strategies, deal navigation, and overcoming challenges to ensure successful closures and measurable results.
  • Mentor emerging sales leaders as they transition into leadership roles, focusing on team management and performance development.
  • Strengthen market presence and drive opportunities through strategic engagement and advocacy.

Model Best Practices and Sales Excellence

  • Lead by example, demonstrating strong sales behaviors, time management, and customer engagement skills, while balancing personal sales success with team development and growth.
  • Act as a connector between newer team members and internal stakeholders, ensuring they have the resources, tools, and support needed to deliver customer-centric, well-integrated solutions.
  • Lead monthly group support calls to deliver actionable insights and tools to the sales team.
  • Support the sharing of best practices to help emerging leaders achieve measurable success.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience mentoring and developing sales professionals and emerging leaders to meet revenue and margin goals.
  • Training experience
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to client sites, industry events, and meetings, including occasional international travel. (50%-75%)
  • Strong expertise in strategic deal execution, sales playbook development, and sales readiness materials.
  • Excellent leadership, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to coach and motivate across all levels.
  • Demonstrated success in building key relationships and representing organizations as a brand advocate.
  • Ability to deliver both group and individual support effectively both with written and oral communication.

ADDITIONAL TRAVEL NOTE

All Meteor new hires are expected to attend an in-person cultural orientation (approx. 1 week) which requires travel to our home office in Gainesville, FL. Employees may also be required to travel and attend annual company meetings and events. All business-related travel expenses will be paid for by Meteor per our company travel and expense policy.
