Data/BI Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Data/BI Analyst to work closely with business teams, delivering insightful dashboards and reports while supporting data pipeline optimization. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can quickly understand data landscapes and contribute meaningfully to data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Maintain Dashboards & Reports: Build and iterate on dashboards using Looker and Mixpanel. Provide ad-hoc reporting support to business teams.

• Enhance Business Understanding of Data: Educate teams on data definitions and best practices. Improve data literacy across the organization.

• Optimize Data Pipelines: Work with DBT to maintain and improve data models. Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance data structures.

• Ensure Data Accuracy & Performance: Monitor reporting performance and optimize queries in BigQuery. Identify inconsistencies and work to improve data reliability.

• Data Quality & Governance: Ensure high data integrity and accuracy in reports. Advocate for best practices in data management and reporting.

• Data Engineering Support: Develop and optimize SQL queries for reporting. Support ETL/ELT processes to improve data accessibility.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or data-related roles.

• Strong SQL skills, preferably in a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery).

• Experience with BI tools, preferably Looker.

• Familiarity with DBT and data modeling concepts.

• Basic understanding of event-based analytics (e.g., Mixpanel).

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills to interact with business users.

• Experience working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with self-service analytics tools.

• Exposure to Python or other scripting languages for data manipulation.

• Understanding of data governance and best practices in data security.
