**Position Summary:**
As a Compliance Specialist, you'll be responsible for processing and maintaining file compliance for a specific region, potentially spanning multiple states. You'll provide exceptional support to property management site teams, ensuring they understand and adhere to compliance processes. Your expertise in Section 42 and HOME housing program rules will be invaluable as you manage compliance workflows and update state reporting agencies.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Deliver outstanding customer service to onsite teams during the file approval process.
- Clarify file questions and provide training via phone and email.
- Review resident files for compliance accuracy and provide clear direction for any needed corrections.
- Maintain and distribute detailed compliance information sheets for your assigned portfolio.
- Ensure site compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
- Process annual recertifications and maintain resident files for compliance approval.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or GED required, with two years of experience.
- Knowledge of HUD programs, including Section 8, Section 236, and Section 42.
- Ability to research and implement various housing programs.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with Yardi software is preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office and MS Outlook.

**Pay Rate & Benefits:**
- Hourly pay range: $22.84 to $26.44, plus corporate bonus structure.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible and accountable for processing and maintaining file compliance in Section 42, the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, and additional programs as assigned for a specific assigned region, which could include multiple states. Provide exceptional compliance support to the assigned property management site teams via phone, email, or other direct methods of communication to ensure understanding of the compliance process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provides top level customer service to onsite team members throughout the file approval process; including, but not limited to:
· Phone clarification for all file questions
· Phone training on any file process
· Email clarification of file denial or file task request
· Reviews completed resident files from property staff and ensures compliance accuracy with applicable program and state requirements.
· Provides clear direction when assigning corrections/tasks to site teams
· Manage compliance workflows in file approval software and ensure accurate compliance workflow is always followed.
· Extensive knowledge of Section 42 (HTC) and the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) housing program rules and reporting requirements
· Updates State Reporting agency with current occupancy information
· Develops detailed compliance information sheets related to assigned portfolio for distribution.
· Maintains compliance information sheets as needed

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
· 2 years of experience
· HCCP designation to be obtained after 12 months in position
· Knowledge of HUD programs (Section 8, Section 236 and Section 42)
· Capability to research and plan implementation of any of the programs above or others
· Able to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
· Experience with Yardi software is preferred.
· Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
· Language Skills – Ability to read, write, speak and interpret basic instructions, simple correspondence and present information one-on-one or in small groups.
· Math Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compare rate, ratio and percentages and interpret basic graphs.
· Reasoning Skills – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems that involve concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Computer Skills – Intermediate experience with MS Office, MS Outlook, State Reporting websites, Internet Explorer and YARDI.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
· Continued education of Affordable Housing Finance Regulatory rules and requirements.
· Ongoing professional development.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Rarely must stand, walk or lift up to 50 pounds.
· Occasionally must reach with hands/arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and bend.
· Regularly must sit, use hands to finger/handle/feel, talk and hear.
· Close and distance vision is required.
