The Opportunity
"To enable continued growth and market adoption, we are seeking a highly qualified VP to lead our Mortgage and Capital Markets practice. As VP, Mortgage and Capital Markets Client Services, you will work closely with our Scores Leadership Team to develop and execute our mortgage and capital markets go-to-market strategy. Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager of the B2B Scores division, you will be a strategic leader who will focus on advancing critical FICO® Score initiatives across the mortgage and capital markets ecosystem with clients, industry influencers, policymakers, vendors and ecosystem partners." - VP and General Manager of B2B Scores Division.
What You’ll Contribute
- Be the primary collaborator and advisor to the General Manager of the B2B Scores division and provide mortgage industry insight and advice to the FICO® Scores Leadership Team and C-Suite.
- Build and manage a team tasked with defining and executing the strategic plan to engage partners and clients in mortgage and capital market segments to protect and grow utilization of FICO Scoring products in the marketplace.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop long-term/multi-year mortgage industry ecosystem strategy.
- Build programs linked to the housing finance ecosystem to help empower consumers through financial inclusion that improves financial wellness.
- Directly and actively engage client leadership and key stakeholders at mortgage lenders, capital markets participants, and related solution providers. Proactively work with customer executives to understand their most pressing business issues and successfully position FICO® Scores for broad use in the industry. Identify market feedback for new use case and product concepts to provide input to the FICO Scores product teams to continue driving the utilization and adoption of FICO scores in the mortgage industry.
- Cultivate and maintain effective working and trusted advisor relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders supporting the mortgage industry, including C-Suite executives, operational managers, strategic project managers, vendor sourcing, and senior staff members. Ensure smooth communication and coordination, upstream and downstream, between multiple departments involved or impacted by key initiatives.
- Partner with clients and influencers within the mortgage industry ecosystem to ensure market feedback is incorporated into the products and strategies we create at FICO to meet the needs of the mortgage industry participants.
- Communicate relevant information effectively to diverse audiences and translate subject matter terminology into business terms, recommend alternatives to our target partners/clients, our internal senior management and project/product managers across the organization.
- Resolve client/solution contractual issues and blocks to sales process by proactively leveraging client relationships.
- Support creation of thought leadership white papers, executive briefings and industry symposium presentations and perform reviews of marketing materials and promotional materials for industry relevance.
- Provide executive interaction support or speak at industry trade shows, conferences, and seminars.
What We’re Seeking
- Degree in Business Administration or similar field; master’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated tenure of executive leadership experience.
- Excellent public communications skills. Media training and comfort in speaking with lawmakers, industry influencers, journalists and media contacts and vendors and partners on behalf of the company is a must.
- Substantial and relevant industry experience delivering solutions to the mortgage industry, including a robust understanding of pre-scoring practices, underwriting and boarding processes, loan servicing, securitization, mortgage-backed securities (MBS), capital markets, secondary marketing, and rating agency practices.
- Knowledge of the public and private mortgage investment markets, including the utilization of private capital and the structures of the FHLB, GSEs and others.
- Deep industry network across mortgage originators, servicers, and investors.
- Experience partnering with and advising leadership teams at the C-suite level.
- Related knowledge and experience in core risk management, new business development, product/service management, strategy development, strategic partner management, and business process re-engineering are considered beneficial.
- Understanding of the technology platforms used in operating the mortgage markets in the US.
- Ability to effectively listen to clients, understand their business needs and challenges, and translate these into effective insights.
- Excellent customer service, organizational and follow-up skills, and the ability to successfully manage an action plan.
- Attention to detail with sound reasoning and problem-solving skills and logical thinking while also having the ability to see the big picture.
- Proven track record of building high-performing diverse teams, across all ranges of experience and excellence in building cross-functional relationships, and managing conflict to positive outcomes.
