POSITION TITLE: Senior Manager, Strategic Finance
Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Strategic Finance will support enterprise-wide financial analytics and modeling initiatives. This position will be focused on developing and ensuring alignment of all models and analytics with direct financial impact on the organization. This position is expected to have deep analytics experience, thorough proficiency in related technology, and solid knowledge of the mortgage business. This role will partner with teams outside of Finance that maintain responsibility for development and maintenance of analytics and models affecting their business unit or department. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis.
Job Functions And Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Leverage deep understanding of business and financial data coupled with analytics to identify root cause issues and provide actionable recommendations to senior management
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract and combine data
- Perform ad-hoc analysis for internal and external stakeholders
- Validate source data and results to ensure data and metric accuracy
- Work with cross section of leadership and team members throughout the organization to understand and develop analytics and models
- Create and validate analytics to include preparing presentations
- Work with Finance senior leadership to support the financial data strategy for Finance including the centralization of key metrics and model results that financially impact the organization
- Contribute to multiple projects through all phases in a timely and effective manner
- Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
- Provide highest level of internal and external customer service

- Work independently and in a team environment, especially across locations and time zones, in execution of projects and identification/resolution of deficiencies or opportunities for improvement
- Self-motivated; ability to independently analyze, lead, and present with very limited guidance
- Partner with all levels of management across various time zones to ensure effective implementation of time-sensitive initiatives and identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to analyze, distill, and present complex information concisely with clarity
- Competencies in problem solving, decision making, creativity, and organizational skills while showing good judgment and execution within a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented in all functions
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Analytics with increasing levels of responsibility, including expert level SQL development and hands on experience in model building in Excel and SQL
- Minimum of 8 years’ mortgage experience required with experience in both Production and Servicing preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Technology or equivalent experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with SQL and MS Excel including VBA
Training / Licensing Requirements
- Must pass the Company’s Background Screening process prior to beginning employment. Additionally, as a condition of employment, you may be required to pass client-specific background check requirements or Federal/State licensing requirements, if applicable
The salary range for this position is expected to be $106,500 – $140,000 per year, depending on geographic location, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.
