Job Description

Albemarle is hiring for a Specialties Sales Representative. This position is fully remote. Candidate will manage current and future customers within Albemarle business in Europe for both divisions Fire Safety Solutions and Bromine Derivatives. Potential candidate will develop and implement sales plans with clear account priority coordinating with commercial leadership and business stakeholders. Utilizes Challenger skills and strategic thinking for value selling and mobilizing customers.

What You Will Do

  • Drive sales growth for Albemarle Specialties products to exceed sales objectives in revenue & profit:
    • Promote Albemarle Fire Safety Solutions and Bromine Derivatives offering.
    • Own Albemarle customer interface with assigned customer portfolio, build and maintain relationships at various management and functional levels (high, wide and deep), understand customer requirements and provides timely feedback
    • Identify, quantify and assess new possible prospects within the value chain. Make sure they identify Albemarle leading market position and assess their development progress through regular touchpoints.
    • Identify new opportunities, develop, successfully negotiate and secure them through contracts and / or purchase orders.
    • Gather and update accurate sales forecast
  • Make best use of Albemarle tools to help cross-functional coordination:
    • Ensures that call logs are reported in SFDC 
    • Forecast accurate sales volume and revenues to translate customer requirements into the S&OP process
    • Build and nurture internal relationships with business, technical service, S&OP, manufacturing, CSR and finance to maximize rate of success. 
    • Apply Challenger selling techniques to customer interactions. 
  • Develop and update market understanding of Fire Safety Solutions and Bromine Derivatives market
    • Translate business strategy into account plans down to actionable tactics and tasks. Take an active part in clear account prioritization process.
    • Identify changes within the market, using strategic thinking assess and communicate them internally as well as adjust key account plans accordingly.
    • Actively partners with Product Management to develop and execute tailored strategy for Europe for both polymer industry as well as for life science segment.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Master's degree in technical or business-related discipline  
  • Mandatory minimum 5 years of sales and commercial experience in the chemical specialties, raw material, life science or polymer industry.
  • Experience with managing strategic sales accounts, developing relationships and influencing across multiple functions internally and within customer organization.
  • Strong negotiation skills and resiliency through tough situations. 
  • New business development mindset and strong interest in exploring the Specialties value chains. 
  • Strategic and analytical skills to evaluate value chain, risks, growth potential of accounts, etc. 
  • Open to work remotely and travel regularly to customers
  • Fluent in English 

Preferred:

  • Chemical specialties background preferred
  • Understanding of the Challenger Selling principles preferred
