Job description

Charles Taylor is a highly successful global provider of professional services to the insurance industry. We are seeking an enthusiastic Accounts Receivable Associate to join our finance team. This is a hybrid or remote role depending on location and needs of the team.

Job Summary

This role will support and deliver consistent, effective, and compliant cash collection and allocation processes to support the strategic objectives of CTA in driving down working capital values and Days Sales Outstanding for US Adjusting. This person will work closely with the finance teams in the region, and external clients occasionally, the role holder ensures cash receipts are applied against outstanding debtors/accounts receivables in a timely and accurate manner, following the documented procedures to ensure compliance with Charles Taylor Group Finance Cash Controls. The role holder will investigate and resolve cash query items but predominantly allocate incoming cash against debtors’ invoices.

Responsibilities

  • Daily download of the bank receipts to be identified against open debtors’ invoices/ledgers and offset to clear debts/accounts receivables
  • Ensure the remaining debtor’s position is accurate, providing a weekly reconciliation of debtors’ accounts to evidence reconciliations
  • Share with local credit controllers any cash receipts that are not clearly identified against an invoice/account, to ensure clearance
  • Reach out to banks and clients contacts as necessary to clarify remittance details for any unallocated or unapplied cash receipts
  • Report to the Credit Manager, APAC the latest cash allocations results and position of the unallocated and unapplied cash items on a weekly basis and maintain ongoing view of all open cash items and debtors accounts


Requirements

  • Strong communication, influencing and teamworking capabilities
  • Efficient organizational skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven track record of delivering accurate results and higher than average outcomes in a cash related role
  • Experienced working with remote teams and building strong relationships with them
  • Experienced managing others and motivating others to deliver compliance against detailed procedures, especially in a finance/credit control environment
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc) intermediate level
  • Experience of working in an accounting environment, responsible for reconciling cash in bank with outstanding client invoices
  • Degree level or equivalent desirable but not essential
  • Highly motivated and great Team Player
