Overview:A Program Manager directs all phases of turnkey design-build projects, from beginning to end, while supporting various service leads to accomplish specific program tasks and goals in a set time frame and with the resources allotted. Responsible for the administration, planning, implementation, closing, and management of turnkey projects, as well as annual ongoing engineering services. Leads project managers who are accountable for assigned projects’ scope of work, schedule, and budget. Accountable for managing, overseeing, and delivering large revenue ES (Engineering Services) client programs throughout the entire EPC/delivery lifecycle. A program manager also owns the client relationship with consistent communication, status updates, coordination activities and they also develop new projects with the owner.
Responsibilities:Specific responsibilities include:
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, while managing client expectations and ensuring regular updates are effectively communicated throughout the duration of the program/project(s).
• Keep the client updated on the overall program with an emphasis on reporting, dashboards, and tracking the program as a whole and meeting the information needs of the owner by demonstrating the value being realized.
• Coordinate with Engineering Group Directors to assign resources to projects or ongoing services.
• Coordinate, support, and lead the assigned project manager s and service leaders to execute all project activities
• Take and distribute meeting minutes for program meetings to keep internal and external teams aware of program activities
• Identify, track, and implement corrective actions for all program and project issues that may impact performance or outcome.
• Work with internal and external clients to define the program and individual project scopes, schedules, deliverables, risks, performance metrics, and expectations for success.
• Own strategic relationships to be instrumental in identifying and developing projects to present to the owner. Should always be looking for ways we can support the client through additional services and projects
• Participate in business development activities such as proposal development, RFP responses, and project interview presentations prior to the start of projects.
• Follow, help develop, and maintain best practices and tools for managing programs.
• Provide feedback to the internal engineering and construction execution teams on project performance and corrective action if needed.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, while managing client expectations and ensuring regular updates are effectively communicated throughout the duration of the program/project(s).
• Participate in relevant organizations for networking and professional development.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Company Leadership.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, construction management, or related discipline.
• 7-10 years of project management experience managing integrated projects in one of the following sectors: Engineering, Construction, Facilities Management, or Energy.
• Demonstrate leadership experience and management of technical or project teams.
• Strong demonstrated skills in technical analysis, organization, and planning.
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Extensive experience in an engineering design discipline, construction, facilities management, and/or energy sectors.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license(s). OSHA 10 certificate.
• Proven design-build experience in higher education and large healthcare settings.
Travel Requirements
• 20-40 % of time will be spent traveling to job site/office location.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Climbing stairs.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Quiet environment.
• Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
