The Capital Markets Intern will engage in meaningful project work, such as process mapping current workflows within loan operations, pricing, and/or hedging. Develop and implement automated reporting dashboards using SQL and data visualization tools, providing key performance indicators to the team. Assist in the development and implementation of new processes for automation, streamlining workflows, and increasing efficiency. Conduct research and analysis to support pricing and hedging decisions. Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns, contributing to strategic decision-making as well as gain real-world experience in the mortgage-backed securities market.

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Assist in daily loan operations tasks, gaining exposure to the lifecycle of mortgage loans within the capital markets context.
  • Support the pricing team by learning and participating in the analysis of market data and pricing models.
  • Observe and learn hedging strategies, understanding how financial instruments are used to mitigate risk.
  • Assist in the pooling and securitization process, learning how mortgage loans are packaged for sale to investors.
  • Shadow traders and analysts, gaining insight into the dynamic environment of capital markets trading.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives across various capital markets functions.
  • Contribute to data analysis and reporting, utilizing SQL and other tools.

 Basic Qualifications 

  • Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university or have graduated within one year of start date (June 2025)  
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and manipulate large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Candidates must have authorization to work permanently in the US without the need for sponsorship (Currently, our organization is unable to support candidates that are on OPT, CPT or candidates that will need sponsorship, now or in the future)
