Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with experience in government contracting and proficiency with the Unanet platform to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our financial operations related to government contracts, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:
    • Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting related to government contracts, including invoicing, financial reporting, and compliance.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using the Unanet platform.
    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure adherence to all government regulations and contract requirements.
    • Prepare and submit necessary financial reports and documentation for government audits and reviews.
    • Monitor changes in government regulations and update internal processes accordingly.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Develop and maintain budgets for government contracts.
    • Conduct regular financial analysis and forecasting to support decision-making.
    • Collaborate with project managers to monitor project costs and profitability.
  • Internal Controls and Process Improvement:
    • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in accounting practices.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of new accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with a focus on government contracting.
  • Proficiency with the Unanet platform is required.
