Job description

1. Experience & Expertise:
  • Strong background in disaster recovery (DR) methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective DR architectures for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Knowledge of DR tools, including replication, failover, backup/restore, and cloud-based DR solutions.
2. DR Strategy & Planning:
  • Develop and maintain DR strategies aligned with business objectives and recovery time/point objectives (RTO/RPO).
  • Conduct business impact analyses (BIA) to identify critical systems and applications.
  • Define, document, and continuously update detailed DR procedures and playbooks.
3. DR Implementation & Testing:
  • Configure and implement DR solutions, ensuring they meet recovery objectives.
  • Develop and execute DR test plans and drills to validate recovery processes.
  • Automate DR processes for efficiency and reliability.
4. Operations & Maintenance:
  • Monitor and maintain DR environments, ensuring continuous functionality.
  • Regularly update and optimize DR infrastructure and resources.
  • Provide support during DR events and incidents.
5. Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with IT teams, business units, and vendors to ensure DR readiness.
  • Communicate DR plans and procedures to stakeholders and provide necessary training.
6. Compliance & Security:
  • Ensure DR solutions comply with industry regulations and standards.
  • Integrate security best practices into DR design and implementation.
7. Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on emerging DR technologies and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process and solution enhancements.
  • Conduct regular DR plan reviews and updates.

Requirements

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with a focus on disaster recovery & business continuity.
  • Strong understanding of DR methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with DR solutions (e.g., replication software, backup/restore solutions, cloud-based DRaaS).
  • Solid knowledge of operating systems, networking, and storage technologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (OCI & GCP) and their DR capabilities is a plus.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in DR technologies (e.g., VMware Site Recovery Manager, Veeam, Zerto, DRS, OCI & GCP Disaster Recovery).
  • Scripting & automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols & security.
  • Experience with backup & recovery solutions.
  • Familiarity with DR testing & drilling methodologies.
