About This Role:

The Strategic Account Executive will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities within the Department of Defense. This role requires a deep understanding of the DoD procurement process, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to navigate complex sales cycles. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of selling into federal agencies, specifically within the DoD, and a strong network of contacts within defense organizations.

Hitting your quota on a monthly and quarterly basis, you’ll find and close new business and creatively network for new prospects. It’s not easy, but it’s exciting, challenging work. And with our extensive set of resources, as well as a supportive team around you, we’re by your side to make sure we’re bold together.

Job Description:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to penetrate new DoD agencies and acquire new contracts
  • Sell primarily to key stakeholders, including military leaders, mission and program directors, and their respective teams
  • Maintain the minimum weekly/daily metrics, and ensure quota is met consistently.
  • Produce accurate and timely forecasts.
  • Develop a complete understanding of all our product offerings, with some emphasis on custom content marketing programs.
  • Understand and navigate sometimes long and complex sales cycles.
  • Work with vertical and horizontal research teams to better understand the Forrester value proposition for defense agencies.
  • Represent Forrester at events and conferences to generate brand awareness as well as leads.

Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong network of contacts within the defense sector.
  • The ability and willingness to make cold calls and book meetings.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, specifically with new-business development, achieving quota goals, and managing personal sales strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in a results-driven environment, with a strong ability to develop strategic relationships, achieve goals, and adapt to dynamic challenges.
  • Military veterans with leadership, mission planning, and problem-solving experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Effective presentation, organization, and time management skills.
  • A team player.
  • A fast learner who is at ease with technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to do limited traveling.
