As the Senior Manager of Data Science, Merchandising & Pricing, you will be a key leader in our athlete and teammate transformation that aims to deliver a best in class customer experience through highly skilled teammates by providing them advanced intelligent decisioning tools using AI/GenAI and Machine Learning at its core. Job Purpose:
This role will require an emerging leader with strong experience in traditional Machine Learning algorithms along with deep understanding of the cutting edge SOTA AI/GenAI methods used in pricing, promotions, inventory planning and distribution. As a people leader you will be leading a team of Machine Learning Engineers and Scientists spanning junior to senior leads, responsible for their career growth and jumping in to problem solve technically. You will partner with product, business, and engineering leads to create a robust science roadmap that delivers to the top and bottom line of the business, aligned with enterprise goals.
Responsibilities:
Support the creation of well-defined science/ Machine Learning road maps that align with business needs,
Hire, inspire, grow and mentor a high performing science team through the entire development life cycle of machine learning models
Collaborate with subject matter experts in business and product to obtain a deep understanding of the business problems in the space of Merchandising and Pricing, to define and refine the corresponding technical solution
Design and manage project plans, metrics and OKRs that align with the mission of delivering intelligent decisioning tools, that support best-in-class customer experience, in the hands of Merchandisers and Pricing analysts
Stay up to date with the latest trends, techniques, and advancements in data science/AI to ensure the team’s work incorporate best practices and industry standards.
Work closely with the Machine Learning Platform team to ensure the platform serves the needs of the scientists and engineers on the team
Architect ML pipelines and jump into code, as necessary, to unblock the team and guide them.
Requirements:
Possess hands-on experience in the field, with a strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning and AI
Experience being the technical lead of multiple projects at the same time, responsible for delivery and business metrics
Extensive experience using common machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI, and LangChain
Expert understanding of Python and other common languages
Experience in an Agile working environment and at least one related project management tool (Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.)
Previous experience mentoring, training, and developing junior members of the team; experience in employee performance reviews
Experience with software engineering principles as it relates to Machine Learning systems.
Comfortable presenting results to and influencing senior and executive leadership on strategic decisions, from the lens of science.
Deep understanding of SOTA machine learning models in the overall retail space. Bonus if specific experience in cutting edge forecasting, pricing and allocation algorithms
Brings a collaborative, problem solving and growth mindset to all interactions with a strong focus on delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master's Degree or Equivalent Level in quantitative fields like computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics, etc.
General Experience: Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level. (Over 6 years to 10 years)
Managerial Experience: Experience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives as specified by more senior managers (Over 3 years to 6 years)

Targeted Pay Range: $114,300.00 - $190,500.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
