WorkForce Software is looking for an experienced Sr. DevOps Software Engineer to join our collaborative Agile engineering team. This role will involve working amongst teams to develop, deliver and operate enterprise-level services in our suite of workforce management software. As an experienced Sr. DevOps Software Engineer, you will be an advocate for DevOps culture, keen to share that experience and drive best practices amongst our teams. You will have experience working in a similar DevOps or site reliability role and have a passion for building products with great automation, optimization, and improvement to help deliver the best experience for our customers.


As a Sr. DevOps Software Engineer, you will work across our cross-functional engineering teams that deliver working software at a regular cadence. You’ll be helping to drive a DevOps culture sharing your experience and knowledge with experienced, highly technical engineers at the beginning of a DevOps journey. We aim to leverage modern technologies to continually improve our products to meet our customers’ needs.


Responsibilities:
•    Lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
•    Develop and maintain automated infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment.
•    Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
•    Mentor and guide junior DevOps engineers, providing technical expertise and leadership.
•    Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to optimize deployment workflows.
•    Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
•    Manage and scale containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and related technologies.
•    Enhance IaC (Infrastructure as Code) practices with tools like Terraform, Chef, or similar.
•    Ensure compliance with security best practices in all DevOps processes.
•    Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response efforts.
•    Actively engage in Agile Scrum meetings and activities


Requirements
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a DevOps or site reliability role and will have a background as a Software Engineer who has developed more Operator skills, becoming a DevOps Engineer.


On your first day, we’ll expect you to have:
•    4-6 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
•    Experience with scripting languages: Bash, Python, Powershell
•    Experience with Infrastructure as code technologies like Chef, Terraform or similar technologies
•    Experience operating software in cloud environments, preferably OCI 
•    Experience with container technologies & ecosystem like Docker, Kubernetes
•    Experience operating and developing CI/CD tooling like Jenkins, Rundeck, ArgoCD
•    Experience with log aggregation tools like ELK (Elastic Kibana)
•    Experience with monitoring software like Dynatrace, New Relic, Prometheus
•    Experience with secret management tools such as Hashicorp Vault/Consul
•    Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot system issues in a Unix/Linux environment
•    Experience identifying and monitoring application metrics
•    Experience identifying and remediating common security issues
•    Knowledge of common security controls and best practices
•    Experience working within version control technologies like GIT
•    Experience reviewing and giving feedback on code developed by peers
•    A passion for learning and sharing knowledge and experience
•    Excellent problem-solving skills
•    Great teamworking skills and ability to work as part of a cross-functional team
•    Great organizational skills and ability to manage own workload
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Strong experience building enterprise-level software


Desired Skills
•    C Experience developing enterprise software with technologies like Java, PHP, JavaScript
•    Experience working in a collaborative Agile engineering team
•    Experience working with a microservices architecture
•    Experience with incident response


Education
•    Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering preferred or equivalent

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions.
