Job description

Heyday Health is hiring an Integrations Engineer to join our start-up team! We're building a platform to help seniors access world-class primary care through home and virtual visits, and we’re passionate about providing exceptional patient experiences and care. 

We are a virtual-first primary care practice dedicated to improving the primary care experience for seniors as well as our providers. We founded Heyday Health because we saw the health system leaving our elderly loved ones behind and were driven to create a better solution. Our practice is being built from the ground up with the mission of transforming how, where, and when we deliver care to achieve exceptional outcomes.

About the role:

As an Integrations Engineer at Heyday Health, you will be pivotal in connecting various systems and technologies to enhance our healthcare platform. This role involves close collaboration with the product team and the broader technology organization to develop and maintain integrations that support backend systems, database management, and application interfaces. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our healthcare services, making them more responsive and tailored to the needs of seniors.

Integrating third party systems and data with our bespoke care delivery platform is the key to Heyday’s success delivering value-based care and empowering clinicians and care teams with tools that make a difference in the lives of thousands of seniors. By creating more efficient, responsive, and personalized care solutions, you help us directly impact patient outcomes and satisfaction. You’re willing to work closely with 3rd parties to integrate effectively and nimbly and hold them accountable to SLAs while collaborating closely with our team to meet their needs and rapidly evolve our care delivery systems. These systems are vital for delivering on the promise of value-based care, where improving health outcomes leads to better financial models for care provision under Medicare Advantage. You can balance the needs of technical perfection and being scrappy to give the organization what it needs when it needs it. 

The role will include the following responsibilities, but not be limited to:

  • Integration Monitoring: Implement and manage tools for error rate monitoring, performance tracking, and uptime checks to ensure high availability and responsiveness of services.
  • Oversee Integration Platform Ops: Ensuring that partners have requisite data (patient panels etc.), addressing operational data feed issues.
  • Data Modeling: Develop and update data models for new healthcare encounters, ensuring compliance and facilitating data migrations.
  • Domain Logic Development: Design and implement business logic to sync data sources from various healthcare data sources, including EHRs, ADT/HIE, claims. * Data Integrity  Testing:** Design structural metrics to know whether data feeds are available and complete. Lead the creation of integration tests, conduct performance testing, and address bugs to maintain high software quality.
  • Endpoint Configuration and Automation: Assist with automating service deployments, configuring CI/CD pipelines, and managing service mesh architectures.
  • Endpoint Security: Help secure API endpoints and manage security configurations like certificates and OAuth setups.
  • Vendor Management: Project manage complex builds and deployments involving external vendors, automate where possible.
  • Backend API Management: Develop and maintain APIs for task creation interfaces, updating authentication mechanisms, and implementing rate limiting. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in systems integration, software development, or a related field.
  • Proficient in technologies and platforms used for backend integration, such as API gateways, database systems, and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry code sets, and data exchange protocols such as FHIR, HL/7, CCDA and payer specific formats.
  • Strong understanding healthcare data regulations and security best practices to ensure data privacy and compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent 

Location: Los Angeles, Boston, or Remote in the USA

Salary Range: $140,000-$170,000 per year with potential for performance-based bonus.
