Job description

Optim Health is seeking a full time Revenue Cycle EMR Administrator.

Location: Remote

Primary Duties: The EMR/Athena Administrator's main role is to successfully carry out the full implementation lifecycle of the Electronic Health Record (EHR), has expertise in the Athena system, including planning, design, training, interfacing, and maintenance.

The EMR Administrator is responsible for the overall day to day support, design and build, ongoing upgrades, documentation, data quality, and user training of Optim Health System Electronic Health Record system, Athena.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyzing the needs and requests of users and departments and ultimately designing, building, testing, and deploying consistent upgrades and workflows to the departments.

Project Management

Maintain access for users with appropriate security levels

First point of contact / maintain regular communication with Athena.

Track project timelines and update leadership and other internal teams with status reports on a scheduled and as-needed basis.

Escalate issues in an appropriate, timely, and tactful manner and drive the resolution of issues and conflicts internally as well as with Athena, regulatory agencies, and other vendors/stakeholders where appropriate.

Responsible ultimately for the creation, configuration and testing of forms, assessments, and any other items that need to be integrated into the EHR.

Work with Athena, operations and revenue teams to document all workflows being used within the EHR and ensuring all training materials are updated accordingly.

Ongoing evaluation of efficiency at the site level with adjustments being made and deployed appropriately.

Lead end-user focus groups to improve EHR functionality and utilization.

Effectively design and carry out implementation of EHR training programs and interfacing initiatives.

Perform system upgrades, enhancements, and customizations as needed

Analyze vendor databases to ensure system compatibility with the EHR

Analyze and provide feedback on end-user workflows

Document implementation and training procedures

Troubleshoot and resolve issues and provide recommendations for areas of improvement

May be assigned other tasks and duties reasonably related to the job responsibilities.

Provide recommendations for short-term and long-term plans

QUALIFICATIONS:

3 plus years of experience in Athena Application

Must have previous upgrading experience

Must have previous vendor interaction experience

Strong technical and problem solving skills

Understanding of HIPAA compliance regulations and HITECH rules

Strong communication skills

Ability to work in small groups under tight project deadlines

Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to effectively present information to clinical and business leaders within the organization

Experience with COGNOS preferred

Excellent interpersonal skills required.
