Job description

This freelance remote role targets an hourly rate between $45 - 75 USD/hr DoE. Freelancers with previous presentation design experience for Microsoft given preferential status.

As part of our mission to enhance our presentation offerings, we're seeking a skilled Presentation Designer with expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint and a keen understanding of accessible design standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design Creation: Develop visually compelling presentation decks in Microsoft PowerPoint that align with client branding and project objectives.
  • Content Visualization: Translate complex ideas and data into easily understandable visual formats, ensuring clarity and impact.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the creative and marketing teams to brainstorm and refine presentation concepts and narratives.
  • Accessibility Standards: Implement accessible design practices in all presentations, ensuring compliance with guidelines and making content accessible to a diverse audience.
  • Template Development: Create reusable PowerPoint templates and graphics that the team can adapt for future projects, enhancing efficiency and brand consistency.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently, managing time and tasks efficiently.
  • Proven Experience: At least three (3) years of professional experience in presentation design, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Design Skills: Excellent graphic design skills, including a fantastic understanding of layout, typography, and color theory -- in all aspects, must have incredible attention to detail. 
  • Comfort designing for Accessibility: Familiarity with accessible design standards, including Microsoft's accessibility guidance for content creation, digital presentations, WCAG compliance, etc.
  • Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to receive and integrate feedback quickly and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft products and presentation styles and strategies.
  • Initiative in collaborating and communicating with diverse and global distributed teams and creatives.
