Job description

Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, electricians, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers, while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn’t like it used to be—the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That’s why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want!

Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50™, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500™ lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we’ve come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.

The team:

The UX Foundations team ensures Jobber’s product experience scales with clarity, cohesion, and quality. Our Atlantis Design System is the foundation that enables exceptional experiences at scale. We’ve built a strong vocabulary of components, design tokens, and patterns, and you will refine the grammar – the principles that dictate how these elements come together into seamless, consistent, high-quality experiences.

As the leading designer on the team, you’ll shape:

  • Component Libraries & Design Tokens – Expanding and refining our system to empower product teams.
  • Design Grammar & Language – Establishing best practices for assembling intuitive, cohesive experiences across Jobber.
  • Accessibility & Interaction Standards – Elevating usability and inclusivity.
  • Governance & Contribution Models – Ensuring quality and consistency across teams.
  • Adoption, Documentation & Education – Providing clear guidance, documentation, and resources to enable designers and engineers to apply the system effectively.
  • Technical Implementation – Partnering with engineers to refine component architecture, optimize performance, and drive best practices in CSS, React, and front-end technologies.

Your work will elevate Jobber’s design language, giving teams the tools and direction to deliver world-class experiences at speed and scale.

The role:

As a Senior Product Designer on Jobber’s UX Foundations team, you’ll shape and scale our Atlantis Design System, ensuring our web and mobile experiences are cohesive, accessible, and high-quality. Your work will empower teams to deliver consistent, best-in-class user experiences.

We’re seeking someone passionate about design systems and quality at scale, deeply collaborative with engineering, and influential across teams. You will:

  • Define and evolve our component libraries, design tokens, accessibility standards, documentation, and governance model.
  • Ensure adoption and alignment by working closely with Product Design, Engineering, and cross-functional partners.
  • Engage with internal and external users to validate and improve the system’s impact.
  • Coach and guide designers by providing best practices and scalable frameworks that drive consistency and excellence.

Your expertise in systems thinking, interaction design, and accessibility will elevate Jobber’s product quality and scale design excellence across the company. This high-impact role will shape the future of our design system and influence how teams build world-class experiences.

As a Senior Product Designer, Design Systems, you will:

  • Lead the evolution of the Atlantis Design System across web and mobile.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure high-quality component implementation, improved handoff, and adoption.
  • Define governance models, contribution processes, and best practices for scalability and maintainability.
  • Work with product teams and leadership to identify gaps, refine standards, and advocate for initiatives that elevate experience impact at scale.
  • Advocate for accessibility, usability, and design excellence by embedding these principles and educating teams.
  • Work with internal (designers, engineers) and external users to validate design decisions and improvements.
  • Measure impact through system adoption, efficiency gains, and design quality improvements.

To be successful, you should have:

  • Proven expertise in product design with a deep focus on design systems—driving adoption, scaling component libraries, and establishing governance.
  • Strong track record of elevating design quality, shaping system-wide standards, and collaborating with engineering to deliver cohesive, high-impact experiences.
  • Deep expertise in interaction design, UI patterns, accessibility, and front-end technologies.
  • Proficiency in designing for responsive web, desktop, and tablet experiences.
  • Strong technical understanding of HTML, CSS, and front-end implementation best practices. Bonus points if you are comfortable working with JS/React.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma (component libraries, tokens, auto-layout, prototyping, etc.).
  • Strong systems thinking and problem-solving abilities, balancing flexibility with standardization.
  • A portfolio demonstrating your craft, design system impact, and measurable improvements.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills with designers, engineers, and stakeholders.

Bonus points:

  • Experience scaling and governing a design system in a fast-growing, multi-product environment.
  • Strong engineering partnerships to implement design tokens and enhance component quality.
  • A track record of strategic influence, driving alignment, securing buy-in, and shipping impactful design system improvements.
  • A passion for accessibility and embedding standards into design systems.

We currently have multiple Product Design roles open. Please apply only to the role that best aligns with your experience and interests. Your application will be considered across all openings in the department.

Compensation:

At Jobber, we believe that compensation should be transparent, fair, and supportive of your experience and growth. This role has a minimum annual salary of $125,800, a midpoint of $147,900, and a maximum salary of $170,100, designed to reflect the progression from learning the ropes to truly excelling.

We design our compensation to reflect each new hire's skills, experience, and the complexity of the role, ensuring a fair and competitive salary. Our range is intentionally broad to support growth and long-term impact, with fully established hires typically starting around the midpoint. Your professional growth matters to us too! You'll have access to a dedicated talent development program that includes career coaching and opportunities for career development.
