Job description

Overview:

The QSC SQA team is looking for a talented and experienced Lead Software certification Engineer to support and verify collaboration applications like Google Meet, Zoom, and Team with native Q-Sys products. You have experience with AV controls and a proven record of ensuring software meets industry standards and regulations.

 

As a Lead, you will develop a continuous certification strategy working with stakeholders, participate in test requirement discussions, be responsible for implementing build and test infrastructure, test automation, test lab ownership, and ensuring good engineering practices by the team.

 

Preferred locations are Boulder, CO / Costa Mesa, CA / Fort Wayne, IN. Open to remote employees as well. 

 

Salary Range: $115,000 - $150,000

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a Certification strategy for verification of Q-sys with third-party collaborative applications like Microsoft Team, Zoom, and Google Meet. This role will grow for more certifications supported by a bigger team.
  • Responsible for software test plans, test execution, and troubleshooting problems. Communicating certification issues to stakeholders promptly.
  • Ownership of executing tests continuously with ad-hoc releases of third-party applications.
  • Be an active member of the software Quality team, and report directly to the Director of SQA.
  • Partner with subject matter experts, Product Management, Alliance leads, QSC engineers, and third-party engineers to understand the certification requirements.
  • As a Lead Engineer, you are a mentor for your team, and you will be the Owner of Lab infrastructure.
  • Report issues in our defect tracking system (JIRA) as needed. Provide additional information to the development team to expedite debugging.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining automation where necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Marketing, or related experience in the field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience in certification, Application Engineering, Pre-sales, or Application field support.
  • Testing/ Software Quality Experience: You have working experience testing solutions. You have a strong interest in End-to-End manual or automation testing.
  • Experienced in writing test scripts for either in-house or commercially available test harnesses.
  • Proficiency in Networking or AV/Video system networking setup and network debugging.
  • Strong understanding of video conferencing technologies and protocols. Experience with audio and video testing methodologies is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Zoom workflows.
  • Familiarity with USB and Ethernet connectivity testing.
  • Experience in testing the integration of multiple hardware.
  • You will be comfortable working with others, in local and international settings.
  • Self-Starter: You do not need anyone to keep you on track. You are organized and efficient
