About The Opportunity

This is a Canada-based remote role with up to 50% travel

The Strategic Business Advisor (SBA) serves a key role in the Revenue Organization, providing strategic support and Higher Education expertise in partnership with Account Executives to meet revenue goals. The SBA focuses on engaging Canadian customers and prospects to understand strategic goals and key business issues to communicate how Ellucian solutions are uniquely positioned to bring value in solving an institution’s critical challenges. The SBA uses their Higher Education domain expertise to support the development and execution of a winning sales strategy, their knowledge of Ellucian solutions to build the appropriate solution set, and their strong presentation skills to help deliver a value driven solution presentation.

Where you will make an impact

  • Work collaboratively with Account Executive partners to develop territory and account plans, and opportunity strategy
  • Lead discovery engagements with customers and prospects to uncover key challenges/institutional goals and priorities.
  • Drive formation of Presales pursuit team, including Specialist Solutions Consultants for deeper dive presentations as needed and Strategic Services Architects to design implementation proposals
  • Architect appropriate Ellucian solution set aligned to solving a customer or prospect’s key challenges
  • Collaborate on ROI development for sales presentations
  • Consult on RFP strategy and support messaging development, review, etc.
  • Co-present value driven Ellucian solution set including ROI, high level solution review, etc. to an executive audience
  • Represent Ellucian at Regional Users’ Groups, trade shows, and conferences.

What You Will Bring

  • Five or more years of sales experience, other relevant direct client contact, or solutions consulting required.
  • Progressive Higher Education work experience with strong understanding of current industry trends, issues in higher education and unique requirements in Canada is required.
  • Experience presenting software and professional services solutions at an executive level required. Able to articulate and logically communicate concepts using strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to plan, strategize and execute a sales strategy as part of a larger team.
  • Ability to develop detailed plans to address customer issues and areas of priority, concern or disconnect.
  • Exceptional C-level relationship building skills supported by good follow-through and strong time management skills.
  • Experience with Ellucian Solutions strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Customer Value Management solutions desired.
  • This job requires approximately 50% travel, primarily in the assigned territory of Canada.
