About the Company:

Sagan represents a fast-growing company in the home services industry, seeking a skilled Controller to manage accounting operations, ensure compliance, and implement internal controls. The Controller will report to the Head of Finance and oversee a team, including a Senior Staff Accountant, AR Clerk, AP Clerk, and Payroll Administrators.

Position Overview:

The Controller is responsible for accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency within the finance department. This role requires strong expertise in accounting processes, internal controls, and financial oversight. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and be comfortable managing a team while ensuring the company's financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.
Manage financial reporting processes, including month-end and year-end closings.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and optimize financial processes.
Supervise and support the accounting team (Senior Staff Accountant, AR Clerk, AP Clerk, and Payroll Administrators).
Ensure accurate revenue recognition and cost allocation, particularly within the home services industry.
Prepare financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support decision-making.
Collaborate with leadership on financial planning and analysis.
Maintain and improve processes related to QBO (QuickBooks Online), Excel/Sheets, and other financial tools.

Qualifications:

Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written).
Proven experience in a Controller or similar finance leadership role.
Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Excel/Google Sheets.
Ability to lead and mentor a finance team.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Haves:

Experience in the home service industry and understanding of its revenue recognition and cost allocation nuances.
ServiceTitan experience (home service ERP).
