What’s unique about this role?

As the eDiscovery Staffing Project Manager, you will be a dedicated team member and subject matter expert seconded to a client to help execute their eDiscovery and document review initiatives. As such you will contribute to designing, implementing, and reporting on customer’s programs such as eDiscovery, collection, document review, legal hold, and legal technology solutions. This includes both supporting the client by executing tasks across the eDiscovery lifecycle including having the knowledge of and ability to provide solutions with the other dedicated secondees as well as leveraging the peripheral Lighthouse teams when needed. In aligning with solving the client’s problems, you will ensure that they are aware of and leverage as many of Lighthouse’s solutions as possible to maximize efficiency and value.

What will this person do?

  • Contributing to the delivery of solutions to meet the client’s needs 
  • Ensuring the clients are aware of and informed about the breadth of Lighthouse’s products and services promoting expansion when appropriate  
  • Helping to assess metrics, and quality steps for discovery  
  • Assisting to refine workflow requirements, , and to implement technical discovery solutions 
  • Executing work for the client in and Relativity to facilitate cases and investigations moving forward
  • Serving as a key go-to resource for the client’s in-house legal teams for day-to-day task execution across the myriad of supported departments  
  • Track, maintain and help to coordinate paper and electronic document collections, reviews and productions, and client files, including corporate minute books, board books and stock records. Calendar and maintain deadline-driven documents and filings.
  • Assemble and provide quality checks on exhibits and appendices for court filings and/or hearings, depositions and trials. Utilize Adobe to assist and prepare e-binders and hard copy binders for case teams.
  • Obtain docket sheets and other court papers utilizing electronic tools such as PACER. Utilize legal research software such as Westlaw and Lexis/Nexis for case retrieval and citation reference.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings trials and arbitrations and client and team meetings.
  • Communicate, correspond and interact with clients and outside entities, such as government agencies, expert witnesses, corporations and other law firms to gather information or data.
  • The position will work closely with the Spectra team and customers to achieve these objectives.   
  • Create and modify searches in Relativity to efficiently identify relevant documents for case team review.
  • Perform quality control checks on processed data and productions, ensuring compliance with production specifications and applicable agreements.
  • Willingness to learn database creation, management (creating user accounts, granting access) and data import and export.
  • Create and maintain coding panels, issue tags, and custom fields in document review platforms to support efficient attorney review workflows.
  • Assist with ediscovery data manipulation/conversion, imaging, electronic document production preparation, and trial technology project management.

  • BA or BS Degree required. Paralegal certificate or eDiscovery certificate a plus.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a paralegal role within an AMLAW 200 law firm or other legal service environment.
  • Highly developed understanding of the litigation process.
  • Experience with electronic evidence, large-scale printing, and document repositories.
  • Working knowledge and experience using various litigation support applications, including Relativity, Catalyst and Case Notebook.
  • Understanding of common production specifications including load files, metadata requirements, and image/native formats
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and other business productivity applications.
  • Willingness to work additional hours and help others with deadline intensive projects.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel, as needed, to other offices and trial sites.
  • Trial support experience; experience in setting up and running an off-site trial War Room a plus.
  • High energy, collaborative team player, and self-starter 
  • At least five years of work experience with at least three years of eDiscovery and project management experience 
  • Expertise across the full scope of the EDRM including an understanding of eDiscovery related technologies (e.g. EnCase, iPro, Nuix, Relativity, Brainspace) 
  • Experience with eDiscovery tasks such as data collection, eDiscovery data processing and production, support for document review etc.   
  • Extensive Relativity experience, including analytics for document review and investigation 
  • Ability to work with vendors, customers, and internal team to evaluate new technology to address customer’s business needs and risks 
  • Ability to educate customers, colleagues, and management on best practices 
  • Strong analytical and logical skills 
  • Strong client empathy and ability to build relationships with clients 
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to multitask 
  • Ability to communicate with people at various levels across organizations and to get complex technical points across in a simple manner 
  • Ability to problem solve and change course/re-plan when issues arise or situations without clear parameters 
  • Ability to scope and understand a client’s case and program level goals and needs; and develop a plan around them 
  • Ability to foster positive and professional relationships at all levels internally and externally 
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle a changing and growing workload 
  • Position will be able to work mostly remotely 

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

The salary range for this position may be tailored to be lower or higher in different talent markets.

 

This role will be eligible to participate in an annual bonus or incentive program.
