Job description

Physician Informaticists leverage their technical and clinical expertise to design and improve Regard’s AI clinical insights platform. You will design and execute projects to improve the software’s ability to process data from various clinical sites and EHRs, surface and suggest diagnoses, and present relevant and actionable clinical data to clinicians.  This role will report directly to the Chief Medical Information Officer, and will work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver a revolutionary new way to practice medicine.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap
  • Serve as the primary clinical informatics expert, working on key projects and advising on regulatory and stakeholder requirements (e.g. FDA, ONC/ASTP, CDI)
  • Oversee clinical data mapping architecture and drive continuous improvements to enhance product quality
  • Coordinate with Clinical Advisors to maintain product accuracy and quality, developing key metrics in partnership with Product and Engineering teams
  • Work with the User Research team to incorporate clinically relevant feedback and guide product improvements
  • Engage with health system partners through on-site visits to gather insights from users and stakeholders, ensuring the product meets clinician needs
  • Leverage your clinical expertise to ensure Regard delivers an exceptional experience and product for our clinician users - “built by doctors, for doctors”

  • Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a medical field (MD, DO, MBBS)
  • 3 years of clinical practice experience
  • Proficiency with at least one EHR system (e.g., Epic, Oracle/Cerner)
  • Strong understanding of databases, data modeling, and system design
  • Familiarity with clinical informatics standards (e.g., LOINC, SNOMED, RxNorm, ICD, CPT)

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (biomedical informatics, biomedical engineering, etc.)
  • Knowledge of a coding language (e.g. Python)
  • Board certified in an ABMS-recognized specialty
  • Board certification in clinical informatics
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical skills and tools
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a high-growth, dynamic startup environment

  • This role may be required to travel up to 1 week per quarter
