Job Title: Pharmacist 

 

 POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pharmacist is responsible for providing services to client/patients of the CareMetx non-dispensing pharmacy. This is a part-time position with the potential to become full time. The Pharmacist aids in the overall compliance of the pharmacy license. 

Requirements

 

  1. Represent the Company in a professional and courteous manner in all job-related interactions.
  2. Adhere to state board of pharmacy guidelines (for all pharmacy licensed states) to ensure compliance with board of pharmacy and NCPDP requirements
  3. Provide verbal clarifications/orders to dispensing pharmacies as needed. 
  4. Ensure ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations; ensure that the pharmacy meets or exceeds accreditation standards; and implement ‘’best practices’’ in all pharmacy activities. 
  5. Resolve pharmacy client/patient concerns and complaints, and provide pharmacy client/patient counseling as needed.
  6. Conduct patient profile monitoring as necessary. 
  7. Ensure pharmacy prescriptions have been validated as per state board guidelines.
  8. Communicate with medical professionals with regard to client/patient status and response to medication, and when necessary to resolve client/patient issues. 
  9. Interact with pharmaceutical manufacturers’ reps as needed to maintain current knowledge of pharmaceutical products and to manage changes to formulary. 
  10. Manage pharmaceutical recalls, adverse events and product incidents for client program.
  11. Assume on-call responsibilities in accordance with Company guidelines.
  12. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies. 
  13. Manage pharmacy technicians to ensure day to day pharmacy activities are meeting company and pharmacy standards.
  14. Participate in the Company’s Performance Management program. 
  15. Aid in the pharmacy quality audits to ensure pharmacy quality of services. 
  16. Participate in Company committees when requested.
  17. Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities. 
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by Pharmacist in Charge.

   

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree from an accredited pharmacy college 
  • Valid state pharmacist license 
  • Requires pharmacy broad knowledge and training in the fields of healthcare, specialty pharmacy and reimbursement 
  • Requires a minimum two (2) years of healthcare experience 
  • At least five (2) years in a progressive management role 
  • A minimum experience in the pharmacy industry is required 
  • Dynamic leader who can energize multidisciplinary work teams to learn and apply new skills and /or techniques to respond to the business needs 
  • Willingness to obtain a Texas State Board of Pharmacy license or any other states needed, if elected for the position 

   

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to organize and plan the activities of subordinates, and to delegate appropriately.
  2. Pharmacy Degree and State Licensure.
  3. Certifications as required for license.
  4. Current knowledge of all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations.
