We help people make smarter shopping decisions with autonomy and accountability. With rising living costs, Flipp's mission is crucial. Our Shopper Consideration Platform allows retailers and manufacturers to create digital experiences from their savings & deals content, aiding shoppers in deciding what to buy and where to buy it. Together, we make a difference.

At Flipp, you'll work with hungry, humble, highly intelligent and other-centered teammates. We challenge ourselves, learn by doing, and grow by developing new skills and perspectives. You'll be equipped to make an impact, realize your potential, and stay inspired every step of the way.

In this role, you will take ownership of the technical aspects of the product lifecycle, collaborating closely with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable products. You will gather technical requirements, define product features, and work closely with developers to ensure successful implementation. As a Technical Product Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that products not only meet user needs but also align with technical and infrastructure requirements, driving efficiency and scalability across the platform.

What you'll get the opportunity to do:

Technical Leadership & Delivery

  • Accountable for managing the product backlog, developing detailed specifications (epics/features/user stories) with a strong focus on technical requirements, system integrations, and infrastructure needs.

  • Lead cross-functional technical teams to deliver reliable and scalable product solutions, ensuring alignment with overall product strategy and business goals.

  • Drive the continuous discovery and development of technical opportunities that support product scalability, performance, and stability.

  • Act as the main point of contact between engineering and other business stakeholders, ensuring technical feasibility and implementation timelines are clearly communicated and achievable.

  • Solve technical product-related challenges, make decisions on trade-offs, and ensure technical solutions align with broader business objectives.

  • Collaborate with the development team to implement the product features while adhering to high-quality coding and design standards.

System Design & Architecture

  • Work with engineering teams to understand the technical landscape and make informed decisions about system design, integrations, and architectural considerations.

  • Lead efforts in ensuring that new features and products are scalable, maintainable, and align with the company's long-term technical strategy.

  • Guide the development team on technical design and infrastructure requirements for new features, ensuring they fit within the existing ecosystem and architecture.

  • Collaborate on designing and implementing technical solutions for high-complexity features, including APIs, back-end systems, and third-party integrations.

Product Vision & Strategy

  • Develop and maintain the product roadmap with a clear understanding of technical priorities, communicating the product vision and strategy across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Frame technical challenges and solutions within the context of the broader product strategy, ensuring alignment with user needs, business goals, and long-term scalability.

  • Lead the evaluation of technical risks and potential challenges, proactively proposing solutions to mitigate these risks.

  • Drive the evolution of the product vision by staying informed about emerging technologies and trends in software engineering, infrastructure, and architecture.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with Product Designers to validate technical feasibility and user experience, ensuring that design and development teams work cohesively.

  • Work closely with Data Science, Analytics, and Engineering teams to define key metrics and measure the success of technical initiatives, making data-driven decisions to optimize product performance.

  • Act as a technical advisor to business teams, helping them understand the technical trade-offs involved in product development and assisting them in making informed decisions.

  • Communicate progress and technical updates regularly to senior stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical audiences.

Mentorship & Team Development

  • Mentor junior team members in technical product management best practices, helping them understand the balance between business needs and technical execution.

  • Lead technical discussions and reviews, offering feedback and guidance on architecture, design, and code quality to ensure best practices are followed across teams.

  • Drive continuous improvement within the team, encouraging innovation and the use of emerging technologies to optimize product solutions.

What you'll bring to the team:
  • 3+ years of experience in technical product management or related roles, with a focus on delivering software solutions and managing technical product lifecycles.

  • Strong technical background, with experience working closely with software engineers on backend systems, APIs, infrastructure, and architecture.

  • Excellent understanding of software development methodologies, with a proven ability to manage technical projects from inception to launch.

  • Solid understanding of cloud-based technologies, system integrations, and APIs, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience in balancing technical feasibility with business priorities and user needs, driving product success.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate technical challenges and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance.
