Job Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer who is passionate about building scalable and high-quality backend systems that support impactful user experiences.

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will collaborate closely with product owners, designers, customer support, and frontend developers to deliver well-architected solutions that evolve with the business. The API you write today may be extended by your colleagues tomorrow, so you value maintainability, readability, and thoughtful design.

What Your Work Will Entail:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable backend services using Ruby on Rails, with additional exposure to Go and Python.
• Write high-quality, modular, and maintainable code while following backend best practices.
• Design and implement robust APIs that support evolving product needs.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration between backend services and user interfaces.
• Utilize automated testing and technical design documents to ensure stability and scalability.
• Work closely with DevOps to enhance performance, security, and deployment efficiency.
• Participate in team discussions to continuously improve product architecture, performance, and usability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.
• Stay up-to-date with backend trends, cloud offerings, and AI advancements to keep Piktochart competitive.

What You Bring To This Role:

• 4+ years of experience as a backend developer, preferably in SaaS or web applications.
• Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails, with a willingness to explore Go and Python.
• Experience with cloud services and optimizing backend infrastructure for scalability and cost-effectiveness.
• Understanding of frontend frameworks like VueJS, ReactJS, or Svelte is a plus.
• Problem-solving mindset—able to translate user and business needs into creative technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills, particularly in a remote asynchronous environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and mentor junior developers.
• A growth mindset—eager to continuously learn, improve, and adapt to emerging backend technologies.
