Group/Division

SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD®), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Key Tasks

  • To provide install support to customers encompassing system commissioning, system upgrade and preventative maintenance support.
  • To generate a close working relationship with the customers in the region to enable the company to sell its product portfolio.
  • Provision of feedback, in the approved format, enabling the pro-active identification of product and business process improvements.
  • Timely completion of all field visits reports (expenses, field returns etc).
  • Provide remote install and technical support to customers.
  • Such other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time.

Qualification and/or Experience

  • Relevant qualifications equivalent to HNC/D or degree level in electrical / electronical engineering  or mechatronics.
  • Relevant  experience within the semiconductor field or other capital equipment arena.

Travel requirements

  • Extensive international travel including but not limited to Europe, Scandinavia and Israel

Competencies (Skills, Aptitudes, and Behavioural Abilities)

  • Electronic semiconductor capital equipment and / or installation would be an advantage.
  • Experience of combining electrical / mechanical / control system as used in a mechatronic environment.
  • Fault finding to chassis level would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience of 3 phase voltage, PLC and operating systems.
  • An adaptable approach to working hours and locations.
  • A flexible approach to work responsibilities, enabling both independent and team working.
  • Ability to work alone or unsupervised for extended period, often in challenging situations.
  • A systematic and logical approach to problem solving.
  • Must be adaptable and willing to travel internationally to support the customer.
  • Excellent communication and customer interfacing skills.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and German.
  • Good organizational skills.

To be based preferably in Bavaria/Regensburg with frequent travel during the week within this wider region with occasional travel to Switzerland or Germany and central Europe.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Level Degree or a Bachelor's Level Degree and a minimum of 1 year's relevant experience.
