Overview:
Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health is seeking to hire an Account Representative for their Beef Team! In this role, you will be responsible for sales and service functions to the end user feedyard customer. The representative is responsible for achieving the budgeted sales and margin in the assigned geographic region.
Candidates interested in this position must be willing and able to travel within the territory by vehicle on average 3-4 days a week with minimal overnight travel based on where the candidate is located.
Qualified candidates must reside in the Northern Plains with Central/Eastern Nebraska as the primary focus.

Responsibilities:
- Fully understand and be conversant in Kemin’s Beef offering, selling points, and industry information to carry on a knowledgeable, helpful conversation about the feedyard operation of the prospect or customer.
- Provides briefings on sales activities, problems, etc., to Beef Team Business Manager as necessary or as requested. Performs any other appropriately related duty as requested by the Beef Team Business Manager.
- Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their needs; identifies and positions products and services to meet those needs.
- Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.
- Advise and work with the Marketing team on the articulation and delivery of insights and Kemin product campaigns.
- Demonstrate the ability to uncover useful competitor information, advantages, and practices in the field.
- Build in-depth knowledge of feedyard clients' business, nutrition and health priorities, and challenges and initiatives that can be translated into Kemin solution opportunities.
- Strategically drive new business in selected accounts in close synergy with the Key Account Manager and core Beef Team to manage assigned sales and margin targets.
- Coordinate collaboration with distribution channel strategies supporting Kemin products and field level engagements.
- Responsible for finding and generating new customers, developing new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts within an established geographic territory.
- Manage a partnership with other Beef Team stakeholders to help develop a strategic plan for the beef industry and the tactical actions to execute the plan.
- Help develop field level account strategies and engage the appropriate teams to support them.
- Lead or participate in projects and initiatives at the field level to help solve problems and improve as a Beef Team.
- Maximize all opportunities in the process of closing a sale with a goal of servicing the customer and building loyalty.
- Analyze Sales Reports to identify trends, spot anomalies against pre-defined measurements.
- Own a variety of projects with the ability to formulate a project plan, pull together a small team of people if required, drive the project, track progress and provide regular reports through our CRM tool.
- Capable to interact at all levels of a feedyard organization to coordinate consultive sales projects.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in animal science, agriculture, business, economics or related field of study
- 0+ years of experience
- Level will commensurate with experience
- Basic understanding of the Cattle Feeding industry and market dynamics through experience or education required.
- Relationships within the Cattle Feeding industry, industry nutrition consultants, consulting veterinarians, and feedyard distribution network are strongly preferred.
- Ability to tell a story through a presentation that provides insightful solutions to the customer.
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the Beef Team’s success.
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- A willingness to travel and work within a team environment.
- The ability to communicate accurately and effectively.
- Self-motivated and driven.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM system.
