Job description

 

Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) works closely with the CEO to execute company strategy, overseeing all assets and influencing key areas such as pricing strategy, financial planning and capital efficiency. The CFO is responsible for all financial accounting and reporting, procedures and internal controls of the finance department. As an integral and important leader, the CFO provides pragmatic thinking into management decisions and guidance with respect to financial and operational matters in a fast pace “scale up" environment. 

 

Responsibility/Task:

  • Owns the company budgeting process and ensures departments objectives match desired financial outcomes. Provides strategic guidance to all stakeholders
  • Accountable for financial reporting and oversight of the finance and accounting team and audits, ensuring precision and thoroughness in all deliverables
  • Manages capital efficiency, pricing strategy, and company budget to optimize returns from financial activities, with a focus on accuracy and comprehensiveness
  • Enhances team productivity across the organization, ensuring all roles are aligned with effective KPIs that drive profitability and operational efficiency
  • Serves as strategic advisor to CEO and Leadership Team. Drives assertive, clear executive level communication across departments, from entry-level employees to executive management, to investors and key external partners, and vendors to ensure alignment and efficient decision-making
  • Maintains agility and adaptability, responding quickly to dynamic business environments and ensuring fast, accurate delivery of financial insights and reports

 

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer 

Interacts with: Leadership, employees, vendors, partners, investors 

Travel required: Limited 

Location: Remote from within the United States 

 

 

Education and Functional Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience leading finance within the finance industry, such as Financial Services, Wealth Management, Fintech, or strategy/management consulting. CFA Level 3 preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, or related field required.  MBA from a Top 20 MBA program preferred
  • Proven track record of executive function success in high-growth environments, with experience scaling financial operations effectively
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience managing assets, with strong capital management skills
  • Highly skilled in managing strategy for a finance company with comprehensive financial models (e.g., 3-statement, cash flow models) to guide business decisions, with meticulous attention to detail. Experience with financial audit and collateral field exams for managing an Asset-Based Lending (ABL) facility 
  • Previous experience in a top-tier management consulting firm and/or a fast-paced, high-growth company in a director or higher role preferred

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Gross Margin Income Targets: Achieve predefined gross income growth targets, aligned with company revenue goals. 

Operating Income Targets: Meet or exceed operating income objectives, ensuring efficient management of expenses and maximization of profitability.
