JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Social media Community Manager

Position Type: Contractor

Location: Detroit, MI; open to remote candidates

An opportunity to make an impact and play a key role in the growth of a top-50 financial publisher. The social media community manager will play a key role in driving traffic to Benzinga.com and delivering awareness of the brand to our key audiences.

We live and breathe Benzinga, and our job is to spread the news like a grass fire and bring you the most engaging content possible.

As a social media community manager, you will have a direct hand in creating content seen by millions of readers and impacting the industry as a whole. If you know how to get engagement and are enthusiastic about trying new things to engage readers, we want to talk to you.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Own strategy for Twitter/LinkedIn
  2. Use web content and news headlines to craft socially native content for the platform with a focus on graphics
  3. Inbound Community Management:
    1. Ensure every Benzinga mention/reply/DM is acknowledged in some way, shape, or form.
  4. Outbound Community Management: Reply to 100+ trending/influential posts per day as a way to insert ourselves into relevant conversations
  5. Be available for ad hoc post requests (breaking stories/trending memes/etc.)
  6. Utilize analytical platforms to regularly develop new strategies to drive awareness of the Benzinga brand and our offerings



The experience you need:

  1. Knowledge of the stock market and the world of finance.
  2. 2+ years developing social media content for brands, preferably at a publisher or brand with follower counts in excess of 200K
  3. Expertise in financial media, cryptocurrency a plus
  4. Passion for graphics and an eye for detail
