Job description

This is a remote position.

We are a British-owned company specializing in the manufacture of toys across Asia. We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to ensure that quality standards that consistently met across vendor factories. This role includes overseeing quality assurance and control processes, conducting audits, managing a dedicated QA/QC team, and collaborating with production and sourcing teams. The position is crucial in maintaining product integrity and compliance with international standards.

  • Location: Indonesia-based, with frequent travel to visit the factory 

  • Schedule: Full-time

  • Report to: Country Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee quality control processes, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations across all production stages.

  • Carry out in-line inspections, ensuring that products meet company standards from all production sections, including components, assembly, and final packing.

  • Manage and lead a team of quality inspectors, providing training, support, and guidance on quality standards, inspection techniques, and issue resolution.

  • Conduct regular inspections, and audits of quality control processes at the factory, including in-line inspections, random checks, and final product inspections, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications.

  • Identify areas for improvement in the production and quality control processes, collaborating with production management to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.

  • Oversee attachment and component testing, such as eyes-pull and part-pulling tests, as well as random sampling tests to ensure product safety and durability.

  • Work with vendors and suppliers to maintain quality standards, providing them with training and clear guidelines on our quality expectations.

  • Manage and resolve customer complaints related to product quality, implementing corrective actions and working with factory management to prevent recurrence.

  • Maintain detailed records of inspection processes, audit results, and corrective actions. Prepare and present weekly and monthly quality reports to senior management, summarizing defect rates, recurring issues, and improvements.

  • Ensure that production samples align with approved reference samples (e.g., Gold Seal samples) regarding size, shape, materials, stuffing, and labeling.

  • Conduct regular meetings with production, QC teams, vendors to review defect rates, discuss improvement strategies, and set quality objectives for upcoming production cycles.

  • Report quality metrics and audit outcomes to HQ, keeping quality efforts aligned with business objectives.



Requirements
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in quality control management within the garment, toys, or footwear industry, with proven expertise in quality inspection processes and standards.

  • A degree in Quality Management, Textile or Garment Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a quality control team in a manufacturing environment.

  • In-depth understanding of quality control techniques, production processes, and relevant industry standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience in process improvement and corrective actions.

  • Proficiency in English and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and vendor staff.

  • Ability to adapt to changing production schedules and demands, and willingness to address quality issues proactively.
