MS Power Automate and Power Apps Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced MS Power Automate and Power Apps Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team. The SME will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing workflows and applications using Microsoft Power Platform technologies. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Power Automate and Power Apps, a strong understanding of business process automation, and the ability to guide and mentor team members in best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development:
    • Lead the development of automated workflows, business processes, and custom applications using Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps.
    • Design and implement scalable, efficient solutions that meet organizational requirements and improve business operations.
    • Develop and maintain custom connectors, flows, and apps within Power Automate and Power Apps environments.
  • Technical Expertise & Consultation:
    • Act as the subject matter expert and consultant for all matters related to Power Automate and Power Apps.
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices for automation and application design are followed.
    • Work closely with business stakeholders to identify needs, gather requirements, and translate them into actionable automation or app development plans.
  • Optimization & Support:
    • Continuously monitor and optimize existing workflows and applications to enhance performance and user experience.
    • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for production issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
    • Regularly update and maintain systems to align with the latest Microsoft Power Platform features and security standards.
  • Training & Documentation:
    • Create and deliver training sessions to empower business users and team members in effectively utilizing Power Automate and Power Apps.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for solutions, including design specifications, user guides, and troubleshooting resources.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business analysts, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet business goals.
    • Assist in project scoping, planning, and estimating resource requirements for Power Platform initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Proven experience (3+ years) in designing, developing, and deploying solutions using MS Power Automate and Power Apps.
    • Strong understanding of Microsoft Power Platform components, including Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, and Common Data Service (CDS).
    • Experience with integrating Power Automate and Power Apps with other systems (e.g., SharePoint, Dynamics 365, Azure).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in building custom workflows and automations within Power Automate.
    • Proficiency in creating custom applications with Power Apps, including Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse (formerly CDS), APIs, and connectors.
    • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, and version control practices.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design solutions that improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in Power Automate flows, Power Apps, and integrations with third-party systems.
  • Communication & Leadership:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven ability to work with non-technical business users and explain technical concepts in a clear and understandable way.
    • Open to mentoring junior developers and guiding them on best practices and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Power Platform App Maker Associate or Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate.
  • Familiarity with Power Virtual Agents and Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Salary Range (US Only):

The estimated base salary range for this role in the United States is $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year. For compliance with local legislation, and to provide greater transparency to applicants, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of the desired hiring location or whether the position is remote. The posted range is an estimate and reflects many factors which are subject to change. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above, based upon geographic location, candidate experience and expertise, and other relevant factors.
