Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to support financial operations, maintain accurate records, and assist in compliance and reporting. This role is ideal for a motivated accounting professional eager to gain international experience while working remotely with U.S. businesses.
The Junior Accountant will work closely with Senior Accountants and Finance Controllers to ensure financial accuracy, efficient reconciliation, and adherence to compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
Maintain and update accounting records in compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
Support month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
Categorize transactions and reconcile accounts accurately.
Process invoices, track accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely payments.
Manage outstanding payments, follow up on late invoices, and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with filing sales and excise taxes on a monthly or quarterly basis.
Identify potential 1099 vendors, collaborate with clients, and manage annual tax filings.
Retrieve and organize bank statements and financial documents for audits and tax reporting.
Support cost accruals and forecasting to aid financial planning.
Provide financial data for management reports and decision-making.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Xero for financial reporting.
Implement automation tools to streamline financial workflows.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or equivalent certification (preferred but not required).
1-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial reporting.
Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and financial compliance regulations.
Prior experience working with U.S.-based clients or multinational companies is a plus.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, SAP, NetSuite, or Sage).
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
Experience with AP/AR management platforms such as Bill.com or Monday.com.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal in English).
Ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet deadlines.
Proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills.
Nice to Haves
Experience with financial audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.
Familiarity with U.S. tax regulations, 1099 filings, and multi-client accounting.
Experience in multi-client or outsourced accounting environments.
Exposure to database management tools like Airtable.
Background in cost accounting or project-based accounting.
