Your mission
Role Overview
We are seeking a Database/Infrastructure Expert to join our tech team, currently consisting of three senior developers. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and development of our database and infrastructure. This includes working with AWS and Docker containers, as well as helping configuring the full-stack environment. You will lead efforts to split our monolithic MySQL database, freeze older data in a passive replica, and optimize our operations by city. Additionally, we are considering moving from MySQL to PostgreSQL in the long run. You will have the support of the entire team but will be the primary focus on these tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Propose, prioritize, plan, design, and execute database and infrastructure operations.
  • Develop strategies to split and optimize our MySQL database, with a potential transition to PostgreSQL.
  • Implement solutions for data normalization, cost optimization, and scalability.
  • Maintain and develop AWS and Docker-based infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the tech team on various projects and initiatives.
  • Help develop optimal table structures and queries for the key features of the platform.

Your profile
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in database and infrastructure management.
  • Passion for solving complex problems and exploring optimal solutions.
  • Proficency with database technical aspects such as transactions, indexes and locks.
  • General understanding of linux systems, cloud infrastructures and server configuration.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
