About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and driven Data Engineer - Contractor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing ETL SQL scripts to integrate, transform, and load large volumes of financial and loan servicing data into cloud-based data warehouses. This role involves developing scalable data models, particularly in a star schema, to support reporting and analytics on key financial metrics such as loan performance, payments, and delinquencies. The Data Engineer – Contractor will work closely with business teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility across systems, while leveraging cloud platforms (AWS) and modern data warehousing solutions (Snowflake). The ideal candidate will bring expertise in both data engineering and financial data modeling, with a focus on performance optimization and ensuring seamless data integration for analytical purposes.

What You Will Do:
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines that power DigniFi’s analytics and business applications. 
  • Data Infrastructure Development: Create and deploy scalable, reliable infrastructure, frameworks, and tools that improve operational efficiency and KPIs. 
  • Data Modeling Development: Design and implement data models and schemas that support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis. 
  • Documentation: Maintain and expand our technical documentation.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to translate data requirements, initiate and drive technical projects across the company to help others consume and understand data faster.
  • Data Advocate: Partner closely with product and engineering to advocate best practices, define data requirements, help build supporting systems and infrastructure for the various data needs.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Continuously share learnings with team members, review code and offer critical feedback, and help non-technical users understand data platform.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Oversee data pipeline execution, troubleshoot issues, and serve as leading point of contact for all data engineering incidents.

Who You Are:
  • 3-5 years of experience building and maintaining ETL scripts using complex SQL and working with financial datasets.
  • Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, optimizing database performance, and managing large datasets across relational databases.
  • Proficiency in SQL for complex data transformations and optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data integrity, security, and performance optimization.
  • Clear communication skills to collaborate with both technical and business teams.

Where You Will Work: 
This position is remote. 

Compensation: 
The hourly range for this position is $50 - $60/ hour.
