Position Summary
Guggenheim Investments is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the Compensation Team. This position is responsible for recording and reconciling compensation related transactions for the firm’s global employee base in accordance with the firm’s policy and accounting controls. This position will be responsible for compensation and benefit related reconciliations including payroll and incentive compensation ensure accurate data flow between systems and support all reporting and audit requirements.
This position reports to the Compensation Reporting Manager and liaises directly with Payroll, Human Resources, Accounting, and auditors. In addition the position is required to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
This position is based in New York.
Responsibilities
Record and complete reconciliations for compensation related transactions, including salaries, bonuses, severance, one-time bonuses, and equity compensation
•Understand End to End Compensation and Employee Benefits processes
•Ensure accuracy and completeness of compensation and payroll accounting entries, as well as recognize impacts to associated financial statements
•Prepare or support balance sheet and expense account reconciliations
•Support deferred compensation plan award entries including accruals, payouts, and reconciliations
•Collaborate with the payroll team or accounting to resolve discrepancies and/or provide variance analysis
•Prepare explanations for compensation-related transactions
•Compile necessary documentation for regulatory or audit deliverables
•Generate reports for management as requested
•Work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment on compensation policies and accounting practices
Systems and Business Workflows
•Provide intimate knowledge and expertise on business processes, data mapping, organizations, and system configurations of designated Workday modules
•Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes related to compensation
•Assist in the development and implementation of enhancements to ensure efficiency and accuracy in compensation accounting
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Minimum 5 years of relevant compensation accounting experience, US and International
Preferred Qualifications
- ADP and Workday experience preferred
- Demonstrated respect for confidentiality and discretion when working with Compensation or HR information
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and be proactive, where possible
- Eager to learn, collaborate, and work in a dynamic environment
Salary Range
Annual base salary between
$100,000.00-$115,000.00
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
