Role Overview
Reporting to the COO - One Dragon Services, the Head of Marketing will be a visionary leader responsible for creating and executing the overarching marketing strategy for the firm and its portfolio companies. This senior leadership position requires a dynamic and adaptable individual who can seamlessly integrate marketing strategies into the business model of a private equity firm while supporting growth objectives across multiple industries.
The ideal candidate will be innovative, resilient, and able to thrive in high-pressure environments. Experience at the highest levels of the Financial Services Industry, with additional expertise in the Broadcast Media sector, will be a significant advantage. The Head of Marketing will also be responsible for overseeing a growing global team, managing key marketing functions, and ensuring consistent brand messaging and risk mitigation strategies across all communications.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision:
- Work closely with executive leadership, investment teams and portfolio leaders, to align marketing strategies with business objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to portfolio companies, guiding them in marketing best practices, brand development, and market expansion.
- Support the marketing strategy for the founder’s non-profit, Foundation for A Bright Future
- Lead and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and resilience within the marketing team.
Event Management
- Oversee boutique, medium and large-scale event planning and execution, including conferences, investor meetings, and industry-specific events, to promote the firm and portfolio companies.
- Manage public relations efforts to build the firm’s brand reputation, leveraging media relationships, strategic partnerships, and crisis communication tactics.
Brand Management & Social Media
- Develop and oversee the brand strategy for the firm and its portfolio companies, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity.
- Promote Black Dragon as a unique, next generation approach to Private Equity and as the preeminent PE firm in our primary sectors. Additionally, preserving and positioning the firm’s executives and partners as thought leaders in these spaces.
- Direct social media strategy to increase engagement, reach key stakeholders, and create compelling content that supports business goals.
PR Strategy & Risk Mitigation
- Manage public relations efforts to build the firm’s brand reputation, leveraging media relationships, strategic partnerships, and crisis communication tactics.
- Proactively identify and address potential risks related to brand reputation and marketing campaigns.
Performance Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results and ROI.
- Use data-driven insights to refine and improve marketing approaches across all channels.
Qualifications Required
- A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in senior leadership positions within the Financial Services Industry; experience in Broadcast Media is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- Demonstrated success in event management, PR, social media strategy, and brand development at a corporate level.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional remote teams and driving performance across diverse groups.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the flexibility to pivot when needed.
Location:
Remote. Occasional travel, up to 25% may be required. Some international travel possible.
